I've never liked him and that has never changed, but I think he's spot on here with both assessments.

I recently tried a few LAB putters in a PGA Tour store in the US. It had a massive indoor putting green, so you could practice all sorts of lengths. But I just didn't seem to get on with it. Eventually, I tried a TM Spider they had on the rack (similar to my TM Spider that I have now had for many years) and it just instantly felt better, and I made much more putts.

I don't know if I am just so ingrained to my putter now that I can't use another, but I'm pretty happy I've not had my head turned considering the cost of putters these days...

The face balance ones will suit some and won’t suit others

That’s the same with milled face , two ball or the anser style

I tried the TM version of the face balance and just couldn’t get on with it at all

A guy I play with regularly struggled with his putting and has tried everything went to a TM face balanced and is putting very well right now with it

I am a putter nerd and decided to have a little collection, so bought all variants of the L.A.B. collection. I like the fitting and personalisation process, which is not readily available with other brands. They stand out and I'm all for being a little different

I've played with each and sold on the ones which don't work for me. Another couple on the fence, so may keep them, or move them on, but will always have two or three.

Picked up a TM Spider TourX black this week because Scottie Sheffler and Rory have both won with it and I'm kinda shallow It'll be in the bag for tomorrows comp.

If you can't putt, you can't putt, but lie angle balance does work, albeit doesn't suit everyone.

They are not over-hyped at all, or everyone would be using them. They are simply new and well marketed, so have centre stage.

Though to be fair, the reason why I went back to a traditionally milled steel putter was due to the tinny lightweight feel of the DF2.1. I tried everything to make it feel a bit more solid...sand down the shaft, tour lock pro weights, lead tape...but could never remove the lightweight high pitched aluminium ring that i got whenever I hit the ball.

Dont get me wrong, I think the logic behind the putters is sound and one day might have a play around with some of the newer models....maybe an OZ.1i which can be fitted with an insert.

I played well with my TM Spider today. The L neck is a revelation and it's staying in the bag for a little while.

Proper fitting is wise with L.A.B. All mine have matched swing weight and although I prefer ones over others, I like them all. Inserts don't work on them for me, but there are options who want one. It's weird having an insert again in the Spider and although I missed more, the pace was certainly better/easier.

Given that a putter is just a lump of metal on a stick. It's not a surprise to hear copies perform well.

It’s a thread ‘celebrating’ the sale of a relatively new company for lots and lots of money.

It doesn’t need the trolls, but you get them, sadly.

LAB, amongst other sellers had to remove the made in USA, once they pass a certain percentage of the product being manufactured outside the US. Similar to Swiss made on watches. Was a load of tosh for many years.

The assembly of those parts is what you pay for. Or rely on a 14 year old tied to a bench.

If you think these fakes are equal to the product they are copying, you need to give your head a wobble.

If you are happy paying over £100 for some plastic thing that you can get for £16 instead and the seller is still making a profit at that price then more power to you.

Yeah, a lot of these “fakes” are coming from the same factories, there is speculation these are being made to the same spec with just a different badge at times.

This isn’t the 1990’s anymore were knockoff Chinese stuff was garbage as nearly all the official stuff is manufactured there as well. Global economy and all that.

Saw that. No doubt copies work - anything can be stripped down, re-engineered and sold. Probably get the same results.

That's not my point.

When they stick a manufacturer badge on it, it's fake and that is not something I will support.

On from the copies and fakes are the DTC brands, which are no doubt manufactured along the lines of a P770, or a T150 et al. At least they brand it. Sometimes getting court action (Kirkland), sometimes doing really well etc.

The people who buy branded fakes are sad. They save a few quid, but suddenly, they forget the fact it's a fake. Some on here will wear a fifty quid Rolex on the sunbed and drink like a fish because 'they've paid for it' on their all inclusive
