RBZ What a driver.

Got one of the above the other day. Don't know why as I have been hitting my R9 great. But have to say this driver is something else. Ok the first impressions were not good. Pigs bladder on a stick sprung to mind. But then its how it play that matters. I got the 10.5* in R shaft.

Took it out to-day to try it out. First hit teed up as I would with the R9. Most of the ball above the driver, just forward of the heel. Wow did it fly but to high! So next hit teed it down so just under half the ball was above the driver and moved the ball back to just inside the heel. What a difference. the ball flew mid/high dead straight. It did not seem to matter where on the face you hit it, straight everytime. Have to say, most of the hits were out of the sweet spot. But two did miss the spot by half an inch on the heel side. still went straight and long. The R9 would have been a push fade. The RBZ must have a big sweet spot.

In conclusion. This must be the easiest driver I have ever hit. In fact if you can't hit it. You need a driver lesson pronto.

Wish you hadn't said that. Had a driver lesson last night and started to make inroadsinto my achilles heel. The pro said my regular shaft is a hair too whippy for my ball speed and so we're going to talk RBZ when I get the changes sorted. A few of my regular golfing cronies have them at the club and they all swear by it now

Don't think I will be that long. As with my R9 only averaged 225 yards with roll. But straight. Mind you with the RBZ getting that in the air now. No roll to-day the ground was so soft. Hit the ground one jump about five foot then stop. You never know when it firms up a bit?

this is an interesting point Dave

I wonder how many people will come out of this golfing season having gained significantly in yardage because thay have been trying harder than ever to get distance (hopefully through a better strike than slashing at it!) in these tough conditions?

Personally I feel my 'good ones' are the best I've hit in years (possibly ever) but there's no real measure for me in the courses I've played as, with the exception of Camberley Heath, roll has been non existent.

May find out some day!

Really enjoyed hitting the RBZ tour (the normal rbz ballooned too much) but the i20 ,.albeit a fraction shorter, was just a tad straighter for me. Was touch and go though

Just had a whack with mine down the range, have been struggling to hit it recently but tried gripping down a couple of inches and had great results.

My previous driver was shorter so I guess it makes sense to.

Doing it on the course it obviously going to be a little different.

my extra distance im gaining from my previous 12 degree driver reg shaft, is from going 10.5 and a stiff shaft (as recommended by my local clubmaker thecraw) ive gained at least 30 yards carry. possiblly would get same distance with any make of head but the shaft works for me.
