Nicking range balls was quite common here. One year on our range, the club bought a load of pinnacle none range balls. You used to find them all over the course where people would play with them. Was having a lesson with my old coach at fairways in sneck and he was proud to tell me they had just replaced the rather scabby old balls with new ones all logo'd and sponsored by The local bus company. My lesson was on the Friday morning, I played an open at Muir of Ord the next day and their practice chipping green and net was full of fairways balls already.

I remember hitting some balls on a range which were bright yellow and over-printer with "stolen from XXXXX"

Apparently people took them for their novelty value!

I did that in the 1990's

In the local junkshop I found about 50 in a bucket.
The guy was not pleased when I told him that I either take them away or call the police on him for selling stolen goods.

That's my local range!

Can't believe they'd have a ready market for them as any range is likely to know where they've come from
