Ralston Golf Course

Nice undulating parkland course. Been a good while since I played there. Inlaws stayed just round the corner from it long time back.

Barshaw with bunkers!

Good social club, with great food so if that's part of the appeal then its a decent choice.

Course wise its decent enough. Usually presented in decent condition with little to no rough that'll cause any problems. Be aware that they lost over 100 trees in the storms earlier this year so it may be slightly more open than usual.

It'll be a busy course. Give Colin in the pro shop a call, he's a very nice guy and I'm sure he'll happily answer any questions.

Personally think its one of the poorest courses in the area - bland as hell with the exception of a few holes. Very expensive when compared to local counterparts for membership also.

Barshaw with bunkers sounds depressing :mmm: I'll continue my hunt for a course worth joining in the Renfrew-ish area

It's decent, not a great test of golf but fair. I call it barshaw with bunkers as its almost the same. It works it was up and round the hill. Better condition, better track. I guess I just call it that to wind up some mates but it does have some similarities.

I'd join if it was on my doorstep and it was accessible without transport. Don't discard it without trying it first would be my advice.

Ranfurly Castle's (Bridge of Weir) worth a pop. Craw will slate it but one of the best courses in Renfrewshire.

Also only a 10 minute drive from Renfrew.

Not at all. I've always maintained its a good lay out, just the unfriendlyist golf club in the Western world. Also can't see it being afloat in the next two or three years. Financial meltdown.
