AH a man on a mission ha, don't start too early I wont be in shop til afternoon & no popcorn in d gaf ..Only warming up
As a kid the other kids wanted black addidas Samba trainers, i got a 1 pair then did not want them, i only wore black after this, as black trainers for me meant i did not get them dirty and cost 15quid v 50.. its my mentality perhaps but for rangefinders where there is NO performance benefit in paying more, this product must have a market.
There is a difference between a bushnell and a cheaper laser. I've owned both, the Hillman fell apart after 12 months, the bushnell didn't. End of thread !!!

You were lucky, Nic. Mine couldn't measure to anything except the sides of BIIIIG buildings - absolutely worthless.
I did buy it using exactly the reasoning put forward by the OP i.e. why pay more? but in the end chalked it up to experience and went and got a Bushnell. That hasn't let me down once and is still on it's very first battery after almost 3 years!

Booooom!!
You pay for what you get. My Hillman measured ok. It was a yard different from the bushnell. That yard could be crucial!!
Then the lenses broke, fell out & I lost it.
Interesting how the yard difference is not both lasers being half a yard out or the Bushnell being a yard out, the instant assumption, without knowing is that the cheaper one is wrong.. This is Trackman syndrome where any number trackman give is taken as fact

Bushnell sounds sexierIt was a fact. I measured both, bushnell and Hillman, over 150 yards. To triple check, I paced it out and then got my mate, who works for NASA, to divert one of their military grade satellites. He confirmed, as did the length of my stride, the Hillman was wrong and therefore a cheap POS.
The bushnell also looked prettier!!!
Actually it was a Hillman Minx. Now that does sound sexy.:mmm: I want one.Bushnell sounds sexier, where as a Hillman reminds me of my dads old car. End of thread ?

Can you stand a snooper label after that misunderstanding in 1983?
