Question for SLDR owners

I have the 3 wood, yes similar characteristics, I have a low launch shaft in it and get a lowish ball flight, expect that its more the shaft than the head but the combination works well for me

Thanks. Looking forward to hitting it, this one has an Oban revenge, which i think is more mid/high launch. Quite like my Covert at the moment though so it got stiff competition.

It came down to the the SLDR and the Nike Covert 2.0 on Trackman when getting my driver.

No real difference in distance but the Nike was more forgiving, dispersion was tighter and I just liked the feel of it.

The Nike would have probably been one of the last drivers i'd have bought straight off the rack as well.

Didn't really get the fuss at start, saw one going on ebay for £179. Pulled the plug and it has been the best investment I have made. Quite simply an incredible golf club. Such a huge difference compared to my old Nike Machspeed Black.

Mate of mine has been using one for a few months and absolutely loves it. And to be fair, he is most probably driving the ball the best I have seen him in years. He's been playing off 12 for as long as I've known him but has recently come down to 10. Whether that's the Driver helping him, or the fact that he is playing more regularly nowadays I don't know.
I have had a couple of goes with it but it felt a bit dead in my hands compared to my Cobra S2.

Was struggling with accuracy till I got the SLDR. Best driver I've had for hitting fairways. Distance is, maybe, up but not by much.

Thinking of having a look at the 3 wood.... currently using the RBZ 3HL

Last driver was a burner superfast 1, regular shaft, 10.5 degree.
just invested in a SLDR, stiff shaft, 10.5 degree, reduced to 9.5

hit both on a GC2 last week and found on average the sldr went 20yards further, with about 2000rpm less back spin, and much tighter dispersion.

is this because my the burner was not suited to me? Maybe, but that doesn't concern me too much so long as the results are right!

Quick question.

Has anyone that has moved across to a SLDR driver noticed an improvement in their driving? Either distance or dispersion?

I am currently trying to improve my launch angle with driver (right set up, ball position etc) but was wondering whether "lofting up" would be worth it also?

So did the SLDR make a noticable difference for you?

Thanks all.

Rob

I don`t have the Driver but do have the 3 & 5 wood with the 5 wood being a high launch one , I have stayed with Titliest and got the new 915 driver , lofting up is the new thing these days it seems , hit it high and carry it long , not work for everyone but you need to try it out and see

Getting the correct shaft is important. The difference from the start of my fitting to the end saw an increase in distance and tighter dispersal. Playing around with the settings on a launch monitor is one of the key things IMO. Tried the 6m3 which gave me a slightly higher SS, the 8m3 gave a better dispersal. I ended up with the 7m3 as it seemed to give the optimum between distance and accuracy.

My bad shot is left with a driver so I prefer to look down on something with an open face. Going with a higher loft then de-lofting it opened the face up nicely so it sits how I want it to. If your bad shot is to slice it, it could be worth going with a lower loft then increasing loft to close the face.
