I went for a driver fitting a while back and got fitted for a callaway razr tour fitted with a stiff aldila rip shaft I am wondering what difference a Miyazaki Kusala Series Blue 72 shaft would be compared to a RIP shaft
Cheers in advance

Miyazaki are very good shafts. The company uses a special flex code (and bend code) for their shafts so you can characterise their performance in more detail. They have also analysed most other shafts in the market, so you can compare side to side.

The Kusala Blue 72 has a code of 5544. 3=R, 5=S, 7=X, so this means that the four zones of the shaft, from butt to tip, play Stiff, Stiff, R/S, R/S.

The RIP alpha is 4565, which means R/S, stiff, S/X, stiff.

The RIP will play stiffer overall, and will launch lower.

I like the Miyazaki method.
Where's a "low" kickpoint? Medium? Just below centre? 3 inches lower than that?
There's no definitive answer.
This system gives you a bit more info as to how the shaft bends. I think the 4 zones each cover 10-12 inches of the shaft.
You may want a shaft that bends regularly throughout - this system will tell you which ones do.
