Hello again forumers,I have finally decided to get a 3 hybrid to complete my bag,but am not sure what loft to get.Clevelands two hybrid models look particularly nice, but the loft (22deg) of the 3hybrid is higher that other brands. As I need to bridge the distance gap between 15deg 3 wood and 24deg 4 iron, would I be better getting a 2hybrid(19deg) or another brand of hybrid(20deg)? Cheers in advance!

Ideally (imo), you'd use your 3 wood and 4 iron on a launch monitor (unless you already know how far you hit each of them), then the 2 hybrids, and take the one that best filled the gap.

For me, my 19deg hybrid is halfway between 3 iron and 3 wood, so the 22 might be best between 3 wood and 4 iron?

My TM is 19 degrees and is ideal. Although it has the same loft as my Cleveland 5 wood it has a higher flight and so isn't as long which is why I carry both but fills the gap to my 4 iron nicely.

Cleveland's 2009 Launcher 3 hybrid is 20.5 degrees. I've got one with the Gold graphite shaft, its so easy to hit and it goes forever. I've measured 220 yards with it. I've also got the 4h (23 degree) but in a steel shaft to make a proper difference between 3h and 5iron.
Try them - you won't be disappointed

Thanks Murg, the 22deg Cleveland is the xls, didn't think of checking the launcher, doh! It looks like the best choice so far. :D

If you ask me, 23 is too much loft. Better to go with 20 or 21....then again, the guys are right to say you need to work out how far you hit it on a Launch Monitor or range.

My 3h goes 10 yards more than my 4 iron. My 5 wood goes 10 yards more than my 3h. But you could be different altogether.

I hit my 4iron about 185 yards and my 3wood about 210 yards,hope this helps !
:D

So you'll be wanting a 195-200 club to fill the gap then.

As a wild guess, a 20 or 21 degree ought to do the trick.

If 3 woods are 15 and 4 irons about 24, then you might find even a 19 degree club (Taylor Made 3h?) might be even better.
