I was putting like a fool, decided to try a fat grip (WINN) on my Yes putter. Had a good practice on Monday and Tuesday with it, play I the roll up on Wednesday and my putting had improved greatly.

I thought about changing putters, liked the look and feel of the spider Taylormade, but save £100 odd quid by changing the grip on my original.

The greens have also improved significantly over the last few weeks which will also have no doubt helped.

Mine has been terrible as well. I had 6 3 putts in Saturdays medal and think i totalled 39 or 40 putts

Still came in with nett 70 which was like an extra kick in the nuts :D
Stuey, do what Birchy does and make sure your love handles are parallel, all will fall back into place then.:)

Been quite happy with my putting in recent weeks but I think it's more a by product of my iron play which has me closer to the flag. Haven't had many ( if any ) three putts in recent rounds ( about 2-3 weeks ) but would be nice for a few more birdie putts to drop - at least any miss are on the pro side and it's because I am being a bit too bold with the putt

I'm the reverse, I have improved my long game over the winter and the result is more GIR, but I have discoverd my putting from longer 15 foot + is poor.... At first I was annoyed to keep turning birdies into bogies but then realised previously I was missing the green, chipping it close and 1 or 2 putting at worse.

There's a great book called Putting Out of Your Mind, by Bob Rotella that helped me a lot.

Gary Player at Golf Live gave the crowd a tip that I found really useful. He says to listen to the ball into the hole, don't look up at all. If it misses, it doesn't matter where, cos you'll just read the green again on the return putt (okay if you can read greens, which I seem to be able to at present). It improved my putting no end, although I've stopped doing it, and I'm still holing putts, although after a couple slide by, I try it again and presto...

Good tip in this thread about heel/toe vs face-balanced putters. From memory, if you have a stroke that relatively straight back/straight through, you will suit a face balanced putter. If your stroke is more of an arc, then heel/toe is better. That's the convention, and of course not everyone adheres to it, but somewhere to start maybe?

Hmmmm this thread has cheered me up a little to know i'm not alone in suffering on the greens. Made a big mistake around xmas, went up to Scotsdale Golf for a pair of Lindeberg trousers, whilst I was there I started playing with the Scotty Camerons, and one in particular (Notchback) really did it for me, couldn't miss. So because I had always wanted a Scotty I brought one. First couple of weeks great, but then the decline started. Put it down to Winter conditions and carried on, however it hasn't improved, the greens are superb even though they are running a little slow for Beau so no excuses there. I have reverted back to my Odeysey, but have even lost it with that, which has been a magic wand for me over the last couple of years. Averaging 35 to 36 putts at present, rest of the game is great but the putting is killing me at the moment. Played superb yesterday in comp 34 points including 3 x 3 putts and 3 misses from inside 2'6". Morale of the story don't fix it if it ain't broken.....

I know everyone will probably scoff at this lol , i was suffering with my putting but i have now changed to a belly putter and ive been putting not to badly last few rounds

Try a counter balance putter before you become too dependant on the belly one unless you don't anchor the putter into
