I've been putting like a clown for quite a while now and i thought once the greens dry out it'll come back, but the last 3-4 rounds it's not.

Now i tried a different putter (Yes Sophia) and although its a nice putter its back in the cupboard. I'm tempted to go back to my old Ping Anser blade style but i'm convinced its me and not the Putters.

Anybody else suffering?

Yep.

Missed a load from 2-4 feet yesterday. In fact I putted like Westwood and never looked like holing them and hit none of them with any confidence. This use to be a strong point of mine and I'm putting it down to a lack of regular practice so no prizes for guessing where my focus of attention will be after work this week. In my case I'm happy with the putter and my set up but seemed scared of giving it a positive stroke as all the flags for our big comp are in tricky places and I was worried about the one coming back. Ended up dribbling most of them with no authority

The greens have really firmed up so having to get used to feel putting and just dying the ball into the hole.

Had them rolling lovely today

What are your misses ? Low ? Too much pace ?

Putting is saving my scores at the moment.
Averaging 29 per round this year and in last week's Medal, when I missed buffer by 1, I sunk about 4 or 5 from around 15 feet.
My sympathies to anyone who is struggling on the greens - sometimes it seems whatever you do or try doesn't help.

Everything:angry:

I can't feel the putts at the mo so i'm hoping its a blip at the minute but maybe a few sessions on the putting green with the V-easy and it'll all come back

yeah - get yourself onto a putting green and start by sinking short putts to gain a bit of confidence and feel in your putter

Had a lesson from Iain from ICY Golf yesterday who was looking to see if my putter suits my style. He noticed my eyeline wasn't over the ball but inside, got it over the ball and started to knock them in.

Best advice, go see your pro, don't get frustrated and sort yourself in long run it's not worth the torment.

Don't worry pal.... Go out, celebrate the pool's premiership win, get lashed and your next round's putting will be awesome!!!

Yep, been suffering for weeks, and I recently changed to a Yes putter as well. Not much better. The greens 'up north' are taking longer to get some growth in them, so don't worry too much. Just get down to the practice putting green and just practice, practice, practice.

Mine has been terrible as well. I had 6 3 putts in Saturdays medal and think i totalled 39 or 40 putts

Still came in with nett 70 which was like an extra kick in the nuts :D

What goes around I guess, best advice is to get on the practice green. Ours greens have really sped up in the last few weeks.

I have gone from averaging 31 putts to a 41 putt round today, no idea where that came from but was leaving a lot of longer putts due to poor chipping.

Back on the course tomorrow hope to get things back to where they were.

I though Westwood putted pretty well this week to be fair......

Feel your pain.

Mine got to a point I decided to get it looked at by my pro before our qualifiers kick in.

I'm glad I did. 9 holes yesterday with 14 putts.

Simple things like ball position make a massive difference.

?

nail on head. I play at stu_c's course. they have relly firmed up this last week or so. you really have to do just that. die them into the hole. anything with a bit of pace just lips out!

I had a bad putting day on Saturday. I made one 15 footer for a birdie, but had loads of three-putts. Greens have speeded up quite a lot in the last week or so, but are still a little bit bumpy after all the wet weather this year, so that might be the reason. I took 36 putts by the way, compared with my average of 31.

First thing I would do is find out what style of putter your stroke is suited to, and stick with it. Get a pro to help you out (by the sound of it you have a selection of putters to choose from already), but get the right putter first (blade, mallet etc etc).
Then get some confidence by hitting loads and loads of two foot putts, preferably nice simple straight ones ... and progress slowly further and further .... you don't need to hole everything but just get confident that your stroke is working again. When you get to 6/8 foot you start to see the action your stroke putts on the ball, and can hopefully figure out if your pulling across etc etc.

Of course sometimes it'll just click back into place and everything will be fixed without doing anything, but for me finding the right style of putter for my stroke was the biggest confidence booster I had.

After todays performance with the flatstick my issue's maybe solved!

I played with Bluewolf today at his home track and made some very good putts, the greens were fantastic considering we're still only in April but more importantly my putting stoke was there.

Now lets hope it works come sunday....

I'm the same as Homer, just keep leaving everything short and not having any authority over the putt. Constantly thinking I will over hit it and actually ending up going nowhere!

Had a good practice session Wednesday and managed to score 11 over yesterday morning on 9 holes, I can safely say this was due to the practice put in the day prior.

Alas, in the afternoon I fell back into old habits and it didnt go my way to say the least!
