guys can someone explain to me what happens with a putter custom fitting session please.
i understand tha the shaft length is checked - depending on height/posture/arm position.
but other than this what else do they do? is it worth holding out for rather than buying what 'feels best' at my local AG?

as i've just sold my Bettinardi and fancy a Yes Tracey II

I have always liked the tracy 2. nice putter.

I guess, aside from the legth and lie angle, they see if your chosen putter style suits your putting stroke.

Normally, straight back and through merchants use mallets, Garden gaters use blades.

I guess they probably look to see if you are a leftie, but I wouldn't guarantee it.

check this out : http://scienceandmotion.com/minicms/zeig...amp;node=11:102

you ideally want to go somewhere with one of these where they can check all your putting specs much like a driver with a launch monitor. They can then find your preferred loft / lie / length etc of each club and let you find a model visually appealing to you.

i've never been fitted for a putter so can't really comment upon its actual merits but if it's good for the pros...
