After years of carrying my clubs I have decided to buy a trolley. An electric one is out of my budget.

The two that have caught my attention are the Clic Gear 3.5 and the Sun Mountain Microcart Sport.

Both appear to be at the expensive end of things but would really appreciate help from anyone who has experience of either of these two or who can recommend any other brands/models I should be considering.....

My two regular playing partners just bought new trolleys.

One spend £200 and got the big max wheeler, this is a great trolley but for the money I would have he clic gear 3.5

The other one got a stowmatic gtx electric trolley for £185, he is more than happy with this, so you don't have to always think electric is out of your budget just you wont get a big name one.

Welcome along

Paid £40 for my masters one when I started playing........ Still holding up !!

Am lookin at upgrading tho..... Prob to electric, can't see the point of spending over £100 on a push one!!!

Thanks all for your replies.

Budget no higher than £180. Preferably cheaper.
How does your playing partner find the Stowamatic?
I hadn't considered Stewart trollies. Are they considered a quality brand?

It may not look as flash as the others but I've got a Powakaddy Twinline 3 and it does a perfect job and it's a lot cheaper.

Stewart Z3 users here as well and really pleased with them. Golfonline.co.uk have the Z1 in red at £124.95 although I don't know what's the difference between the two. Perhaps someone else will. Join up to their site and there's extra freebies as well.

Stewart are quality have a look at there top range trolley!

I have a motocaddy s1lite same trolley frame as electric version but a cool bag instead of battery. Around £100 so well under budget.

My friend loves the stowmatic, has all the features he needs, came with all the accessory's though the drinks holder can drop down the rail but not the end of the world and he got a 36 hole battery.

I've got the Powakaddy Twinline 3 trolley too. It's been really well used and is over 4 years old. Has held up well, however I had to do a DIY job as the telescopic handle kept sliding down when I pushed it. Pretty simple as I switched the 2 locking grips round as the bottom one never changes position. Result works as treat and was simple to do from somebody who struggles to put a jigsaw together.....

I have a clicgear and cannot fault it. Excellent design and no issues at all.

Welcome. I have just changed my Sun Mountain Micro Cart for a Clic Gear 3.5. Reason; I liked the Micro Cart, but only with the Micro Cart Bag with the V slot in the bottom. When I changed to a bag with a flat bottom, it wasn't anything like as secure, hence the change. I very much liked the Micro Cart with the Micro Cart bag, except when it rained and the bag was an absolute sponge, so I changed to the H2NO bag, which required the trolley change.

As an alternative, I had the PowaKaddy Twinline 3 before the Micro Cart, no problems with it, just wore it out & fancied the Micro Cart as the replacement, wouuldn't disagree with bozza's comments.

Didn't like the Z3 when I looked, drinks holder in the middle of the upper panel, with the clubheads sitting above. Being as tall as I am, with the handle fully up then the drinks holder was redundant, and I still had to bend over to stay under the brolley. Clic Gear is much taller, making it easier for me to leave the brolley on it & walk upright (which was also an issue with the Mountain cart).

Hope that's useful.
