Pro shop Loyality or On line savings

[QUOTE
Last year I had my eye on some new woods in the pro-shop, the pro advised me that they would not be any improvement on what I currently have and that he would not be happy selling me something which I didn't really need. Can't say fairer than that.[/QUOTE]

Wish our man was like that but he'd sell you sand for the bunkers if he could get away with it .
Just noticed he has added a pound to nearly everything in the shop when his sale finished .
He now resembles a Tory mp as he's always moaning how it's been a bad year for him

I try to build loyality but sometimes it just isnt wanted,

Case 1: i used to use my local AG (Purley) for around 75% of my stuff, and in christmas 2010 HID was going to buy me some wedges, AG had them at £80.00 each, DG had them at £110 for 2. Knowing i needed two i went along to the AG store, had a look and hit a few balls, then once id committed advised of the DG Price, which pointing to their price match banner. The store assistant called me a liar and said it wasnt possible, and went to get the manager, in the mean time it was smart phone time to get the page up, he come out, looked at the page and said " thats my last set and im not selling for that money "... .... .... what happened to the price match policy ... DG got the business!

So with Purley AG now on my hitlist, i started building a relationship with my proshop offering him the business where i could, and in november they had some nice proquip iron cross lined jumpers reduced from £69.00 to £45.00, i wanted one but like my jumpers lose so wanted a XXL that they didnt have in stock, only med, large and xl. i asked him to get one in for me, and understanding that he was a small shop said to lump it in with hes next order as there was no rush,. 4 weeks past with 2 restocks of proquip and no jumper, when i asked he said he had forgotten.. ok we all do it. i advised that as long as i had it around christmas as we was due wet weather and cold weather then. I played boxing day and it was in, and when i popped in to pay for it it come up £75.00 :o Apparently the discount offer was on new stock that month and not what id ordered in,

It sort of ended in a bit of a heated debate, because he didnt want to stock XXL which i accept as shops are cutting back on stock, i was going to be penalised not only £24.00 to the full retail but an aditional £6.00 from where. I advised that after messing me around almost 2 months, how can i be expected to pay a £30.00 increase because of he's failiure to provide me the jumper on time and that if he didnt supply it at the £45 id rather shop online and wait another week just on a moral standing if nothing else.

He did back down after much grumbling, but now i have my lessons with one of the pros there who i have used for the last 12 months, but regarding shop spend, its emergency items only...

Pro Shop for me, unless Ive got a Direct Golf Voucher to use or somethings no-longer available to order from the manufacturer.
My pro nearly always has Direct golf and the likes webpage's open on his screen so he pretty much price matches everything on there even if you've not asked!
