Pro Rider Remote Controlled Golf Trolley (Help)

As long as they offer an after service, repairs and spares available then I can't see you having an issue. My Powerbug still goes strong, cheaper than most but not remote control which to me is a bit of a gimmick.

Crawford, i borrowed Scotts Hill Billy last night, and it was ok. But even with no power to the wheels, it was pulling down the hills, and it was hurting my knee something terrible. So this is one of the reasons i am looking at a remote one, as well as it would be quicker to use around the course. Yes they seem to offer a 2 year warranty on the frame, 5 year on the motors, and 1 year on the battery. TBH i would probably take on an extended warranty on this, as i would use it most days. As long as it doesn't cost a fortune.

Richard, look in to this more or contact them as it's a mobility site there could be subsidies applied for people with accessibility issues.
Many of the companies that sell mobility gear do this and the reduced price is often a tax/vat reduction that you only get if you have a long term issue (not injury). Best to check it with them.

My Dad has a congenital heart problem, and had 3 major heart operations, so walking an 18 hole course can be tricky for him to say the least. He uses a GoCart Golf Trolley. He's had his for at least 3 years if not more. Not sure about cost, but he and some of the other people I play with swear by them. Only available direct through GoCart though.

Ouch..... I hope i don't need any of that. I noticed it affected my game last night in the comp, front 9, i went round in 41, back 9 was 45, and the back nine is a lot easier. But it was starting to really feel the pain. I think i am going to change my shoes to spikeless. This is starting to cost an arm and leg. Argh........

I've got a GoKart trolley (blue) that I'm looking to sell - haven't put it in the for sale section yet. It's about 4 years old, in good condition but requires a new battery (circa £50 from Gokart). The battery doesn't quite make 18 holes any more. Not sure how much it's worth but PM me if you're interested, can work something out.

munroe (everytime I see your name I think of Last of the Mohicans, Huron, Magua and the daughters of Munro) I feel your pain especially downhill, My Powakaddy is powerful enough it helps the uphill climbs by actually pulling me so less strain on the knee. Downhill is tough, what about getting one that has a brake so you can 'lean' on it on the way down? the remote ones are gimmicky plus you have to always watch it and keep clicking your remote to avoid bunkers etc
Anyone I know who had a remote, now doesnt

Darth i would only use the remote part for down hill, and use the rest of the time in manual. I could almost feel my knee cap popping out going out downhill. And i didn't want to let go and risk my clubs. Hahaha. I am not going to rust into something, i just wanted to try and get some feedback. Cheers guys : )

Hi Guys,

I am really struggling to carry my bag just now, with my sore knee. So i have been looking at buying an electric trolley. I have looked at all the brand name trolley's, and they cost a small fortune, for what you get.

I found these guys http://www.proridermobility.com/detail.asp?productID=352 and i was wondering if anyone else had used them.

I bought a remote trolley from active sport and leisure on ebay, which looks the same and has the same spec, had no probs, doesnt run totally silent, the battery certainly does 36 holes,i got 3 rounds on a flattish course no problem.Came with a brolly holder which broke within 30 seconds.
They are on buy it now for £299, i offered him £250 which he accepted and that was delivered.

Thx hammer, i am watching one one eBay, and its only at £190 just now. How long have you owned it.

I bought a pro-rider and on paper it looks like a good deal however after several problems and a running debate I received a refund. In reality you get what you pay for.

I would strongly advise going for a new or second hand powakaddy, motocaddy or go-kart. I'd also recommend going for a basic model as there is less to go wrong.

I bought it in april, at the time they were selling in auctions for £220- £240 with £20 p&p.
I agree with dave.b you do get what you pay for, but when you compare prices with the big brands you are getting what you pay for.
Its been fine, but one thing i found strange was the seller never left feedback.

I have had one of these for 3 years and many of my fellow golfers use a Pro Rider. Not sure how big they are as a company but definitely not a small brand as I have seen them on many courses
I first new of them due to their electric bikes and I thought a company who makes electric bikes and mobility scooters will be able to make a decent trolley and look after it. I went to their service centre last month and saw a team of engineers or service workers so they look to have the back up I wanted.
They gave me a free wheel as my clutch was loose in my wheel. This was after 3 years and they gave the part free so can't fault them for that
Not sure which is the best trolley to get but for me personally I have been very pleased and have never heard a bad word from my associates on the course
