Ours is sealed and my mates isn’t. Both buff coloured blocks and both with two cars sitting on them.

His is constantly looking worse than ours. Much grubbier and takes him more effort to clean as a result.

Still refuses to seal it though.
What did you seal yours with Greg?
We’ve got self draining loc block which means no sand in the joints, think I’m going to just put sand in and seal it once I know the full process.

There’s loads but I use Sika “Sikaguard” and it’s never let me down.

Can’t speak for other people but any dark spots I do get over time tend to clean off with little effort.

Our cleaner used Thompsons one coat patio and block paving seal, clear 5 ltr (£32.99 from Screwfix according to the invoice). He sprayed the sealant from a backpack thing which he pressurised with a hand pump. The whole process was spray with the jet wash to clean and rip out the moss and weeds and leave to dry overnight. They cleaned a few areas by hand with a brush and cloths, mainly where birds had been overnight and where water puddled and then brushed the synthetic sand into all the cracks. They then sprayed the sealer over the top which has left a slight crust on the larger exposed areas of sand

I'm due to jet wash the patio and have a few questions.
After a wet and damp winter there's quite a lot of moss in the pointing and a few weeds here and there.
I'm thinking of scraping and sweeping the moss etc before jet washing.
Is that a waste of time? Reason I ask is that I jet washed patio in lock down and it leaves such a lot of muck and gunge that gathered at the lowest point of patio.
Also, every time a patio is jet washed, it takes off a protective layer. Would that not make it less durable?

Bought a K3 and it has cleaned our newer patio really nicely, though tbh I gave some of the dirtier slabs a quick scrub with a deck scrubber first to loosen muck. Still got a bit of residual rust staining that I wasn’t able to clean off…so suggestions on that front welcome.

Today it’s cleaning the slabs of our older patio that were lifted when we had our extension done, do them before they are relaid coming weekend, plus clean those that were left in situ. Quite a lot of black spot on those so will get some specialist black spot remover.

Happy with the job the K3 did though I could probably have got same outcome with my deck scrubber, though my back would have complained a lot more. Plus can see using K3 for other cleaning jobs 👍

Can you not put a small drain in?
What protective coating? Isn't the patio just natural stone (or concrete).

Done mine on Saturday with my old K2, then sealed it yesterday with Johnson’s sealant. Patio is about 16 years old now a pinky/grey Indian sandstone, gotta say it looks a treat now! 😁

No can't put a drain in, it does seep away eventually leaving bit of a mess.
The slabs are York stone effect/concrete. Already laid when I moved here.
What I meant by protective layer is the power of jet wash spray does take away an amount of patina.
Just wondered if it would have an adverse effect over time.
