Unfortunately I have to agree. If he was picking the 1stXI based on fitness, form and experience we'd have played a 4-2-3-1 formation in our first friendly with:

Hart

G Johnson, Dawson, Terry, A Cole

Parker, Barry

Lampard, Gerrard, A Johnson

Rooney

???
A Cole not played much towards back end of season after returning from injury.
G Barry not played for weeks because of injury, didn't train until after the squad was announced.
Gerrard had a poor season and certainly not a "form" player.
Rooney not played anything like he did prior to his ankle injury against Bayern (Germans BTW)

On form, Milner should have been played in the middle.

I'd agree with Hart & Johnson.
Bent, although he did nothing in the friendlies should still have gone ahead of Heskey.
Jagielka should have gone ahead of both King & Carragher.
Would also have taken Young and Agbonlahor ahead of Wright Phillips & Lennon

Do folk really think Terry is a great player and worthy of a place in the starting 11?

What attributes lend him to be labelled the player the press and many others think he is tell me??

He along with Lampard are 2 vastly overated players IMO.

Take the foreigners skill and movement out of your club football and you are left with blood and guts and little else when the national side play.
