Absolutely pathetic.

1 - Sack the Italian due to not seeing what everyone else can see.

2 - Never play Terry for England again

3 - Introduce goal line tech

Take off Defoe and bring on Heskey - he touched the ball twice.
And bringing on SWP with 4 minutes to go - why?
With 20 minutes to go we needed every striker we had on the field.

As for the defence - well I'm not sure we had one today..

I know Capello's going to have to take the brunt of the backlash but how many of these players would you pick to start the Euro Qualifiers in a few months time?
I don't think anyone came out with any credit.

Adam Johnson, Bent, Parker, Walcott have all got to be knocking on the door now. You can't put a square peg in a round hole and in the current formation Rooney, Gerrard, Lampard and Milner are all square pegs.

They're the lucky ones. They didn't go!

I bet they're sat on a beach pissing themselves

You're not wrong. Carragher, Heskey, King, Upson, Wright Phillips, Green surely their England careers are over. Time to rebuild methinks...

They won't though because whoever takes over will be as gutless as the last few incompetants!!!

Capello said that he's only pick players who were in form and playing regularly. That's exactly what he should have done but he didn't - why - because he's terrified of the press if he didn't pick Gerrard, Lampard, Terry, Heskey, A Cole and J Cole who've all had sub par seasons.

On the back of today's effort I'd like to see the England team disbanded completely unless it can be run properly.

I suppose as this is the "alive" thread on the footy, I'd better put forward my thoughts.

I didn't watch the match, not through any other reason than I was playing in a comp.

From what I've seen, England were average and Germany were good.

There are two things I'd like to say though.
1) *some* of the teams in the world cup can play football, we (England) are not even close to the likes of Argentina in any respect. It is surely clear to anyone with eyes that most of out team are over-rated, over-paid third raters, that only look good in the Premiership because the top teams are full of proper players who allow them to flourish.
As soon as we accept we are in the 2nd division of world football, the sooner we can appreciate the small success we have. If a tennis player (other than Andy M) wins a few games and gets into the latter stages of a tournament; people are happy and pleased. If there was no expectation, I'd have been pleased to see our national side get into the comp and get into the knockout stages.....it's a good result if you ask me.

2) I don't expect we could have won it with the disallowed goal, I don't really care - Germany could have put 5 past us. BUT....come one  is there any other sport left in the world that can allow a goal that was a goal to be disallowed.

Unfortunately I have to agree. If he was picking the 1stXI based on fitness, form and experience we'd have played a 4-2-3-1 formation in our first friendly with:

Hart

G Johnson, Dawson, Terry, A Cole

Parker, Barry

Lampard, Gerrard, A Johnson

Rooney

But Terry, A Cole, Lampard and Gerrard haven't had the best of seasons, by their own admission so why take them???

Terry - still annoyed at losing the Captain's armband and, more importantly, annoyed that he hasn't got the power in the England camp that he's got in the Chelsea camp

A Cole - broke his ankle - played lack of games in the run up to the WC.

Lampard - he's done nothing for England for ages. His club form appears to have deserted him as well.

Gerrard - he blatantly should have been left at home. He's not the player he was five years ago. Liverpool FC have burnt him out. He needs to move to Real Madrid for his last big pay out and retire from International football.

I totally agree. We'll probably end up keeping Capello and he'll do an equally shite job of it for the next 4 years.
