Pre Volvo friendly with Murph

We're playing our second round pairs Volvo match next Friday up at my place and as Murph hasn't played it in years, we had a friendly knock last night after work.

Nip and tuck for the first 6 holes but then I won 4 on the trot to go 3 up. We then halved the next 6 holes to close it out 3&2.

We kept a stableford card going as well and it ended 16/16 for Murph and 17/17 for me. Steady but unspectacular. Will need to step up a gear to beat the 6&7 handicappers from Brocket Hall next week.

Murph was good company as usual. Nice bonus was there was a wedding on at the club so plenty of eye candy!!!

Rick are you getting courtesy of the course in your match at Brocket?

My club would not offer it to my opponent in my last match, much to his annoyance.

Have any of the other guys in the Volvo matches had any issues?

Its not at Brocket Hall, we're playing at our place and we have got courtesy. I didn't get it when I played my HDID away at Hendon. It's entirely down to the club and I've even discovered it depends who you ask. The club don't have to offer it.

Oh dear!!! had a good round today playing 1 over handicap in the medal. Had 10 great birdie opportunities and didn't convert a single one of them. Probably the most frustrating putting display ever......
