Practice Drills

Sounds like a brilliant drill. Always on the look out for a worth while practise drill, for someone like myself who tends to go to the range get half way through a basket and get bored. Should keep me a bit more focused. Will be sure to keep an eye out on your page

Worst ball scramble is absolutely genius. I quite often play match play against myself when out for 9 holes. this sounds far better.

Yes, I like the sound of that - will give it a go next time I'm on the course on my own.

The "par 18" game is one that I use in practice. Much better than repeatedly hitting the same chip. Slight difference is that I only set up 3 holes - one each easy/medium/difficult and play the circuit three times. Still gives the variety but allows you to learn a bit about how to play each shot and try it differently.

If you can make practice productive and harder than the game you will definitely reap the rewards when you play in club comps.

I like the short game one. I need to improve my chipping and putting and so anything that means I can record progress and see forward momentum has to be good. The worse ball one is very simple and clever

I started playing worst ball last year and it's as good as it sounds for making you focus.

At my level just making par on a hole is an achievement!

I play the worst ball scramble thing, not quite as serious as you have described there but a close equivalent.
Can't remember who said it, but it was something very similar to this game. it was a famous pro to a young fella thinking about going pro. Go to three courses you've never played before, play 2 balls and choose the worst ball each time for your next shot. If you can break par three times you might be ready to have a go at it on tour.

That is very true, you need to be extremely consistent to play this game well. To shoot under par you need to continually hit excellent shots. A couple of years I was playing this game quite a bit at home and in practice rounds and the lowest I shot was 67.
