I have used iron head covers on and off for a good few years and if I was in ownership of a nice new set of forged blades (or the like) the I would be using them again.
Not just any old head covers mind you!
As all my irons are of the cavity style nowadays I'm inclined to not worry as much! As much as I got a bit of stick for it on the forum no one said anything but nice things in person when I had them on!

I don't believe you sported an iron cover on the occasions we have played, if so I would like to retrospectively call you a golfer of the crusty, elderly persuasion!!!

I tell you what, if you could get loudmouth iron covers with little beards I'd be all over that!
Re the comparison to the big JC, I feel a little hard done by. I'll admit that he was probably a good bloke, but did he ever win the longest drive and nearest the pin in the same charity day?

Further thread hijack! Apologies to the OP. But yes, iron covers and loud trousers are not the way to go!
Are you playing with the Ping Zing 2's? What do you think? I think they are really good although the sand iron is going to have to go.
Played last week and a mate with some new cavity back Mizuno clubs was telling me how I should be on Antiques Roadshow with mine and that he could hit his 7 iron further than I could hit my 6. I said of course he could as my 6 iron probably had more loft! Turns out this was true and the argument was settled when we both hit 3 of his 7 irons and I outhit him by 20 yards on every one.
I like having old money lofts. Nostalgic!
