Wow, Has anyone had the misfortune to TRY and claim the warranty on their powakaddy trolley.

How can a company of this size get away with such poor customer service, it is shocking !!!!

I really need somewhere to vent my frustration and anger at the way they treat their customers. :sbox:

Let me know your experience with them please

Thanks
Andy

my experience is good with warranty, pray tell more.

P.S welcome to the forum, pity your first post is a moan:o

I have the TOUCH and when I first opened it, the spring mechanism on the handle was broken. I just took it to the approved retailer, who fixed it for me and then returned it no problems at all under warranty. I didn't have to deal with PowerKaddy directly so perhaps I was lucky.

Hey Folks,
I have been an avid reader/follower of the forum for a long time now, its good to read about what other golfers think about.
I AM SORRY that my first post is a moaning session, but i just cant get anywhere with powakaddy and i was wanting to know if this is common.

Here's the story :-

Once upon a time, in a golf store far far away .......
I purchased a Freeway II lithium, fantastic. what a great invention. lightweight and looks awesome.
after a year i had a few problems, the head unit would steam up and the motor would intermittently pack-up (usually at the 10th tee - furthest away from the clubhouse).
I took it straight to my local agent, who agreed that there was a fault and returned it to powakaddy for me.
They had it for, wait for it ..... 16 weeks !! then called to say that they no longer make this model and for the nice price of £150, i could upgrade to the new Sport Lithium (which i paid).

It is now 16 months later and the new battery has failed, This was returned to powakaddy at the first week in January. They have had it now for 13 weeks !!!

I play golf twice a week, every week and now have to rent a trolley at £7.00 per round.

In just over 2 and 1/2 years my trolley has been in warranty for 7 MONTHS, and a cost of hundreds of pounds in rental trolleys, and powakaddy are refusing to return my calls and to admit responsibility for the problems.

ARRGGGGHHHHHH.......

and breath, wow, that feels much better and congrats to anyone who managed to make it to the end of my rant. LOL

Andy

They arent taking your calls but why are YOU calling when its through an agent, let the agent call using his relationship. The timescale is very long, something def isnt right, your agent should be able to get an answer within 24hrs

I have let the agent deal with it but even he said he was being messed around, things have came to a conclusion over lunch though. I called Powakaddy and they had dispatched a new battery to the service agent, it will be with him tomorrow.

This doesn't really help with this post (although I'm glad to be getting it back),

I've only had two dealings with Powakaddy now and both were horrendous, I want to know if I'm just unlucky or has other people had the same/similar experiences dealing with customer services ??

My wife worked for a golf club a while back and the pro shop had nothing but problems with Powakaddy. The pro had issues getting straight answers and resolving problems and members were always moaning about them

My left clutch has gone, OK the freeway I have is third hand but I cannot be bothered to take it to the "local" approved fixer person.

Going to do it myself with eBuy purchases and Yootoob vids

I think I have the answer for you, a bit of a long winded one but here goes.
About 4yrs ago power caddy and Hill Billy were sold as 2 separate companies to one person who merged the companies, the sellers of power addy and hill billy then set up EZiCaddy, ( you still with me) right about 18 months ago powercaddy and hill billy went into administration now the 2 owners of EZiCaddy have now bought out Powercaddy and hill billy and bringing them back up to the standard they should be.
I bought an EZiCaddy trolley 18 months ago and have had a few issues with it but had the best service I could wish for even to the point that mybatterypacked upfront he 2 nd time ad one of the owners delivered me a lithium battery frees charge that evening. I work just 2 minutes away from the powercaddy factory in Sittingbourne Kent where they also build hill billy and theEZiCaddy.

So the jist of the story is last owners ran the company into the ground and the new owners are rebuilding so I would suggest giving them time to get everything in order and I hope they get to the levels of their new company EZiCaaddy

Iam so glad I'm not alone in this, I have read elsewhere on the interweb people venting their frustration as the level of the customer services.

I owned a Gokart, one of the very first ones - AWESOME, great company the customer service is fantastic and they couldn't do enough for me. even when the Gokart was out of warranty, they were so helpful.

Well, my young brother took up Golf - Just as i was turning 30. so I gave him my TRUSTY Gokart and treated myself to a shiny Powakaddy (cause it matched my new bag - VAIN MUCH ).

a few years on, I'm on my second trolley - My 3rd Lithium Battery and 7 months of NO trolley while away for warranty. And my brother is still using the same battery (which is now about 6yrs old) and not having any problems whatsoever.

I will never purchase another Powakaddy product and would never dream of recommending them.
Gokart on the other hand, I shout about them everywhere I go and can not recommend them highly enough.

the phrase at the Golf Club is ......

" Don't do an Andy.... BUY a Gokart "

Hi iamwoody
Powakaddy have been in touch with me after seeing your post. They don't seem to have a record of your issues so have asked you to call their customer service team on 01795 473555 and ask for Tanya Ellis and hopefully they can find a resolution
thanks
Mike

Hi Mike,
Thanks for letting me know.

Its really strange that Tanya doesn't know about my problems as its HER i've been dealing with for the last 3 weeks !!!!!

I gave powakaddy a call yesterday, APPARANTLY Tanya tried to call me on friday but got no answer so left a voicemail.
They must be REALLY good at their jobs - I DONT HAVE VOICEMAIL !!!!!!

The upshot is this - Powakaddy are not taking any responsibilty for the time taken to rectify my problem - 13 weeks !! ( which if we can remember back to the beginning of this, was only a faulty battery).

They are blaming the service agent and as a good will gesture are prepared to extend my warranty for three months. but they are not prepared to re-imburse me for the out of pocket expenses i.e. over 200 pounds in rental trollies.

The quality of the customer services is apalling. i work in a garage and if a customer had came in to us with a problem with their battery, can you imagine the look on their face if i said 'sorry mate its gonna take 13 weeks to get a new battery' - REALLY FOR A BATTERY .....

I bought a brand new car and it only took 2 working days to arrive, in fact i bought a new build house and it only took 11 weeks for the whole process to conclude. All i asked POWAKADDY to do is replace a faulty battery and its taken 13 WEEKS.

I dont feel i'm being unreasonable in asking for compensation, I have spoken to several people at powakaddy and they all say that it is the decision of the directors. So although I'm angry and disappointed, I'm not blaming the individual staff (which i have told them also). Obviously they can only implament company policy.

So if the directors of powakaddy are happy with the way that they treat their customers then i really cant say anymore but quite frankly it makes me sick the way that they treat people.

I wont buy another powakaddy product ever again not because the trolley broke down these things happen, no, just because of the way ive been treated. I DONT and would NOT RECOMMEND them to anyone.
