So we have a straightforward plantation of young trees just off the fairway - and comprises young trees staked and area marked by posts to indicate relief should be taken. Let's say the plantation is rectangular in shape say 20ft by 15ft -but we only have three posts two at the green-ward side identify the extent of the plantation that side - but only one on the tee-side, and this is fairway-side. My balls in the tee-rough quadrant of the plantation. Do I get a drop and where do I drop it?

The way it reads, it seems as if there is a post missing.

Is that the case? Or is that likely to be the case?

That is what I thought. But I could find neither a post lying about in the rough or a hole (the rough wasn't that deep) that I could reasonably claim to be the hole for a missing post marking the extent of the plantation. Nada, zilch, nowt

btw our posts are 2"x2" and take one out and you certainly see the hole

New plantation?

Part of the course you haven't visited before?

Time for some common sense I believe. Or a phone call back to the Pro Shop.

Is there any description of the GUR in a local rule which would define the margins of it even though it is not clear from the stakes?
