I tried to get to single figures before reaching 70.
I got to 9.7
6 years later am HI 14.8 & just happy to be still playing.⛳🏌️‍♂️
We have a group at our club well into their 80's who play together. One of them ( now passed) used to, literally, carry 3 or 4 clubs (no bag). Us youngsters, 70+, all aspire to be still out there at that age 👍

Over on the Laughter thread an episode of Parkinson, this week, has been referred to. Guests were Kim Novak and AJP Taylor, the historian.
AJP shuffled on, slightly stooped and walking with care and I'd say, looking a little frail. He was a lovely guest. Eventually, Parky mentioned his age and congratulated him which prompted some applause. This was 1980. When his age was mentioned I genuinely exlaimed to my wife "Good grief, he's only 74"!
At my club, and, I'm guessing, yours, we have a host of spritely, lively members who are really active on and off the course, and I'd assumed from his demeanour he was much more elderly. (He survived 84 years).

So 44 years from now maybe 80 will be the new 50?
