After working in the garden I had a couple of midge bites and put some itch relief fluid on them (called 'after-bite'), the following evening I got a couple more and did the same, the following day I had a couple of bites on my foot and thought that was a bit weird so checked the cats for fleas (combed the crap out of them as I was sure I'd find something) - I found one flea and that was that - off to the vets to get some frontline and industrial strength flea spray for the house. The following morning there were more bites, I thought there might be a rogue flea so covered myself in after-bite and anti-histamine cream before bed.... more bites the next morning on my arms --- so we bought some plug-in thingys that stop midges/mozzies from coming in the house, more bites, so sprayed the house again covered myself in as many things as I could find and took 6 antihistamine tablets (2 different types), more bites... took 8 anti histamine tablets the next day (daily recommended = 1) mixed with a couple of diclofenac for the inflamation and a couple of ibuprofen for the same, and so it went on... went to casualty after 2 weeks but there were 30 people in there and I wasn't going to spend 6hrs scratching away (although the after-bite fluid stops the itching really well) had new sheets on the bed every night, even slept in clothes to stop things biting..... and then a few days ago it dawned on me that perhaps I was allergic to after-bite :p ... I stopped taking it and voila! I felt better the next day, all bites didn't look so angry, and itched less, the next day was better and the 3rd day I wasn't itchy or inflamed at all.

It was SOOOOOO painful and SOOOO itchy - what an idiot putting on a 'remedy' that I'm actually allergic to, all I had was a couple of midge bites, ended up with (what I thought were bites) about 300 of them  - I blame the wife for buying it!!!!

Bugger!
Not sure if this is true but I read somewhere that if you hold a hot spoon against the bite, it will break down whatever it is that causes the irritation. You may have a 3rd degree burn but at least you won't itch!

Sorry James, but if that is a human foot, and it is yours, then don't worry about leaving your car at my gaff, I'll see you at Gainsborough.
