Pity that you did not get that TOC is not the home of golf..
In the mid 1900's it was just a pretty ordinary, old, poorly maintained municipal course.
Yeah, but that was before sensationalism and YouTube.

I can at least say I was one of those fools who queued!
At 05.45 on an Easter Saturday one year, third in line and managed to get out first tee time with an American couple attending the same wedding as me, and a Japanese guy. The two ball booked in at 7am didn't show up!
More recently, I've heard of people queuing from 23.30 now and not getting on, so I'm glad I did it pre COVID!
Feels like it’s a bit of tradition that’s being lost.

No disrespect but that picture that was posted did absolutely nothing for me. If someone posted the attached my head would be turned and would be more inclined to want to play it.

This last week we had the absolute joy of playing Lofoten Links in Norway. Located 95 miles NORTH of the Arctic circle, this golf course is nothing short of spectacular. Here are a some of the 430 odd photos we took during our visit. The first tee from the tips, I personally think Machrihanish...forums.golfmonthly.com
