Playing this weekend?

Have the June medal today with an 08:27 tee, sitting looking outside at the 40mph wind with heavy rain forecast for 9am onwards.

Can't wait to get going 😜

Not playing but I'm going down to my club for the first time in 2 months for a bit of putting and light chipping with a couple of wedges.

My physio said this would be OK as long as I don't over do it as it contributes towards my resistance physio to help strengthen the tendons in my thumb.

I'm all excited bananadance.jpg

Photographing 40 junior football teams tomorrow & a similar number on Sunday so no golf this weekend. Rest on Monday, then a 2 hour drive to Silloth for a game on Tuesday in, hopefully, fine weather and light winds.

8.15 am competition tomorrow, my 5th game in 8 days, feeling a bit cream crackered. Only 3 or 4 games this coming week though!

County Practice match today at Girrton - think it's 9 holes foursomes but not sure. Then pairs comp tomorrow - then work on Monday for a rest...too much golf this week despite my best intentions to not play every day. Not a bad problem to have but does leave me feeling a bit stale and jaded on the course.

A first round at Lees Hall on Sunday after a tennis competition today. First round since shooting my lowest ever score on Thursday evening so hope to keep up the progress.

Hoping my good ball striking and short game that lead me to three good rounds in a row recently on 18 hole courses will follow me to the par 3 course so I can beat my 4 over for 18 record.

Putting and chipping more than turned up! The good ball striking did not, thankfully the difference was only between decent birdie chances or easy pars and long birdie chances and simple chips.

The wind and clubbing correctly proved the most difficult challenge, still scraped it around in 6 over for 18 though, not bad considering my ball striking was not where I expected it. Put the two halves together and you never know :)

I blame the bad shoulder I got from carrying a bag which was practically falling apart round 15 holes at Whitby...

Played with HID this morning. We came off after nine as the wind was ridiculous. Loads of others doing the same as well. Balls being blown around on the greens etc

As expected wind and rain was atrocious, had the ball blown off the tee on three occasions and was a nightmare when putting as the ball was being moved on the green.

Shot a poor 85, so another .1 on the cards, struck the ball really well but just had no idea of how far it would go into and against the wind and was rushing the putts due to the wind.
Should have stayed in bed lol.

No golf this weekend as mother in law is in hospital so I have the brats to myself this weekend.

Was up and at the range for 05:30. Working on what I've been getting taught. Finished at 07:00 and spent 40 mins pacticing chipping and putting.

Overall happy but progress is slow and being hindered by not playing more.

Sitting in the office & I've got man-flu, cheer my up by telling me what you're all doing golf wise this weekend and what your expectations are

Despite being afflicted I'm still playing, got a club stableford Saturday about 80 minutes drive away and a charity fund raiser on Sunday at another course about 40 minutes drive (car up for grabs for a hole in one)

I expect to skoosh the high handicap class on Saturday and finish mid table Sunday but with new car keys in my pocket (so confident I'm going to get a lift down so that I can drive the new one home) ;)

You?

Well that didn't entirely go to plan...

Man-flu eased a little in the fresh air & weather was a perfect 28 degrees both days with no wind

I did manage to win the div2 comp on Saturday with net 72 and feeling good about myself proceeded to have a nightmare on Sunday at a very tough course with so many narrow tee shots & water hazards that led to lots of three-off-the-tee's due to my 'power fade'. So that brought me back to earth with a bump!

However clubs (& shoes) cleaned as soon as I got home, lost balls replenished and ready for the next one, Saturday cant come quick enough, you gotta love this game ;)
