It’s pretty quiet on the forum for some reason, so what’s everyone doing for golf at the weekend?

Just the one game planned for tomorrow, one of these charity fund raiser open things. It’s being held on a tight course, lots of trees and water in play on 17 holes so I expect to lose a few balls!

Some nice prizes up for grabs but I doubt these’ll go to anyone who can’t easily exceed their stated/claimed handicap! except maybe the hole-in-one car (a nice Merc) but I don’t have a go-to club for the 170yrd distance so I can count myself out of that too

Still it should be lots of fun and it’s for a good cause

What are you up to?

Because of my eye surgery I am unable to play in the semi final of our 4bbb winter match with fellow forummer Mashleyr7. He's going to play on his own and i shall be rooting for him to win through!

I have a bounce game on Sunday moring with a 6:40am tee time. Our course has just opened 6/7 new tee boxes so pretty excited to get out there

Bounce 9 tonight, bounce 18 tomorrow, and first round of a 4BBB on Sunday morning. Add to that bounce 9 on Tuesday evening, Captains away day at Ashridge on Wednesday and then Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday next weekend..... that's good bit of golf lined up for the next 11 days.....

36 holes of foursomes on Sunday in an inter-club county knockout thingy. Not at a great course but shouldn't complain as it's an opportunity to play some golf and that's very welcome right now. Should practice really.

Practice session tomorrow (if the weather holds, the forecast is a bit grim and while I am normally willing to tough it out on the course, I am less persistent when it comes to being blown away and rained upon on our driving range and practice course, which are both very open and exposed to the wind), maybe a few holes afterwards. Fun competiton on Sunday ("Newcomer Cup" ... Texas scramble).

I am hoping to get a game at first light on sunday. if the weather is crap then i'll stay in bed and go to the driving range in the afternoon

Hey Tash, I've missed the last two weekends due to work etc so I know how you feel

Not Ile Aux Cerf, it's at the Legends GC about 20 minutes north. I only get there about twice a year but don't complain as I find it a really difficult course (The European Seniors Tour hold the season ending event there)

Stunning par 3 17th though (see arrow)

I'll be in the comp tomorrow morning weather permitting
Hopefully can convince my friend for 9 holes (he now works 2 hours away and is back this weekend. He was my PP last year when I really started taking things seriously but he's not even touched a club since last summer)

Chris,
Will you be walking round with him discussing strategy & keeping his spirits up?

18 hole club comp tomorrow. Not sure if it's a medal or stableford. This warm weather over the last week or so has seen the course dry out nicely and with a bit of luck the green keeper has been able to cut all the fairways for the first time this year.

Sunday sees the clubs annual two day bash to Blackpool with rounds at Herons Reach on Sunday and Monday.

Roll Up comp this afternoon. Handicap currently 8.4 so probably back off 9 by the end of the day.

Pairs comp on Sunday morning 7.30 tee off so I can get to the football on the afternoon.
