Going to be arriving in Liverpool around midday and looking for somewhere to eat tonight, staying at Albert Docks, I like the look of The Floating Grace anyone eat there? Or other decent places to eat.

Depending on what you are looking for but if you are at the docks then Revolucion de Cuba is very handy, good atmosphere and very decent.

Alma de Cuba in Liverpool was a fantastic experience. Good food but we ate at the weekend. I say that coz there was a show on etc. just fantastic. That’s where I discovered Ron Zacapa rum. ?

The Queens is one of my favourites, just off Castle Street. Great food and good wine list, Highly recommended.
If you want a proper authentic indian try Mowgli.
My favourite "proper" Indian is the UNI on renshaw street though.

We ended up eating in Gusto at the docks good atmosphere and very good food.
Things that surprised me about Liverpool…..how quite it was around the dock area during the day not that many people around, how many locals were working everywhere we went, how crap the singer and acoustics were in the cavern? ( I know it’s not the real Cavern but nipped in for a look).
Plus side how friendly everyone was that we met,Liverpool museum was good, wished we had more than one night would like a long weekend sometime.
What’s with all the padlocks on the railings around the dock area?
Is padlocks on railings not a love thing? Started on one of the Paris bridges and happens all over now. Might not be the case but it's the usual reason.

Quiet? We're working mate. Come on a weekend you'd think it was the end of days and everyone partying as though it was. As for friendly, I work in Liverpool and they're some of the best I've ever worked with.

It called a joke, designed to make people laugh. FWIW I was brought up in Liverpool, still have a lot of friends there who I visit regularly. The people are the friendliest you will find and have a legendary sense of humour, although you seem to have missed out on that one...

There’s a footbridge in bakewell. It has that many the council are on about taking them off due to the weight of them. The cobbler in the village is kinda gutted coz he sells the padlocks and must of made a fortune. If they take them off they will be replaced.
I know the exact bridge, love Bakewell. I suspect the cobbler will end up being very happy as people will come back to see their padlock, realise it has been removed and then buy another from him
. Since this fad has taken off it is standard to remove them every so often. As Bakewell have discovered, those padlocks weigh a lot and become dangerous to the bridge, railings etc. Incidentally, have you ever looked down when you cross that bridge? The river is an absolute mass of trout. Never seen anywhere else like it. I may just have hit trout time each occasion but it is a sight to behold.

The trout and feeding them are one of me fave things to do in Bakewell. Apparently it is something to do with the temperature of the water being pretty consistent through the season. ?I know the exact bridge, love Bakewell.
