Ping G430 v Titliest TSR2

So today I nipped up to the range and tried out the Titliest driver. Whilst in the shop I ask if I could borrow a.
Ping G430 7 iron to loose up. Bottom line it was a thing of beauty. A gorgeous club to hit.
After I had warmed up I loosened a bit more with my own driver once I was happyish I tried the Titliest. Oh dear. I just could not get it going. My baby fade turned into an even bigger fade every ball was hit in the middle but I just could not get it going. I went back to the Ping and it was far better. Again with the Titliest and nothing decent.
I finished by hitting the Ping G430 irons again and was convinced they are the next irons for me.
So Tash is now on the hunt for some Ping G430 black dots from a 6-UW.
I was talking to the guy in the shop and mentioned about how my bags over the years have gone from 3-Pw into a 6-UW. He mentioned quite a few golfers are doing away with a 3,4,5 iron and going with hybrids and woods.
Spoke to the guy re his Titliest driver and he has the same problem as me, a large fade.

You know what. I didnt even have a look. 😖
He never left the tool with it.
Not gonna lie after a couple of hits I thought what the hell.
You know when I look at some reviews of clubs and I hear “ the look Might not be to everyone’s taste” I never really got it. But I do prefer the look of the Matt finish on the Ping to the glossy titliest.

I love my tsr3 , fell in love with it on the fit . Went in wanting the ping but came out with the titliest

A2 is the standard loft but max draw bias

Was speaking to the pro at our club this week (also does our custom fittings).
Said when he tested them he could not get more than a yard extra from the GT Vs the TSR. Said they weren't worth the upgrade in his opinion.
I've gone from a TS3 to a TSi3 and now to a TSR3 they've all been great tbh
Would have kept the TSi3 but I clipped a tee marker (after being almost blown off my feet in a gale) put a dent in it and got the TSR3 off the insurance, cost me a fiver
I'm happy to stay with this, haven't tried the GT

What a confusing bunch of names, how are you meant to remember which one is the newer one?? :ROFLMAO:

I have the TSR1 which is the super lightweight one. To be honest I am very pleased with it. I have had Pings in the past and they have been good but I struggled to install light weight shafts in and get them to perform.. but as an off the shelf option they are good.

I tend to be behind on having "the latest and greatest" equipment. I changed from the Ping G400 to the G425 last summer and it made a huge difference. Granted, I'm old (75) and need dry fairways and a tailwind to get it out there past 200 yards, but I rarely miss a fairway. I've heard that the G430 and G440 are both great. However, I'm not changing until something goes sour with my G425.

Your upgrading from the G 400 to the G 425 is what was explained to me. On every new club release there is a small improvement. But if you miss a couple of new releases you see a greater improvement. I think the difference you would see in an upgrade to a 430 would be miniscule and certainly not worth the best part of £500. Again upgrading to a 430 I don’t think it would be that massive. Having said all that, has Ping ever made a bad driver.

Massive improvement from 425 to 430. Distance same but the sound stopped sounding like a frying pan

I think you're probably correct. I guess I will wait for the G500 or whatever comes next.

Only just seen this thread which is a shame as I’ve just sold a TSR2 that was 12wks old for a mate. He preferred his TSI2, said it was forgiving a lesss firery on bad shots which in his case are a high fade.
