Ping G30 or G30 LS Tec

I have seen online that there is a new low spin option from Ping. Any one know if it actually works or is it nothing but a gimick? Also, do you lose anything having this option? I need as forgiving as possible!

Test are showing what Ping are claiming.... between 200 and 400 rpm difference on representative strikes. See Mark Crossfield or Rick Shields videos on the subject on youtube.
