Pass mark for GCSE maths

The bizarre thing now is that on a scale of 1-9 a 4 is an old school C. A 5 is a good C. It is like a C- and a C+

A 7 is an A, an 8 is an A* and a 9 is an A**.

Why have stars? Why is a 9 not just an A, the elite mark? What pillock added stars to the A grade back in the day? The moment they added stars to the system it all went pear shaped.

Hopefully in the next few years people will stop relating back to A, B, C, A* etc and will just think 1-9.

Just seen a teacher did the maths exam to prove how hard they were

He got a 5 so a C grade

Though I'm inclined to think you don't realise how much 'your education' has subtlely trained you to approach any workplace problem!

Yep, I am thick I did vote leave after all...

Apart from arithmetic [CSE Grade 1] history [O level B] has been about the only other subject I've found useful in the workplace...
Then only for doing the Friday night general knowledge quiz...
Before folk had the option to google the answers and spoilt a long standing Friday night institution...

My English Language [ O level A] has long been forgotten...

34% he got 40 today which was a C

Maths was the only subject we were worried about he only had one other C in Welsh which he refused to study for had 4 A's and the others Bs

We didnt have the number grading system in wales.
