Quick question regarding going OOB.

Basically we have an internal OOB line on our 6th hole running the full length tee to green (the par 3 9 hole course is beside so it's actually a course boundary)

Anyway question is: a few times I have hit a tee shot and it has faded out of bounds onto the fairway on the 9 holer. I can see it land from the tee box and able to walk over and pick it up. Am I allowed to do this and just play a drop from point of entry or is 3 off the tee required?

I think its 3 off the tee, ive never known a drop be allowed off an out of bounds shot before. Ive hit a few there as well! :(

Are you allowed to stand OOB but play a ball that is in bounds?

Defo 3 off the tee OOB is the same as losing a ball return to point you hit previous shot from.
And as already stated you can stand OOB to play a ball in bounds much the same as on the tee you can stand outside the tee boxes as long as your ball is between them.

The location of the OOB can be different localy , with internal OOB etc, the ruling regarding the penalty is not to clubs discression as far as i know

Silly things internal OOB, guess its a safety thing in some places tho

Played a local course a while ago, 10th fairway runs alongsside the 11th. No white OOB posts, but local rule says, if you hit your ball on the 11th fairway from the 10th tee, it's out of bounds

Go figure
