Opinions on the Tour Burner

Last time out at Bude I hit 9 out of 14 fairways, and 4 of the other 5 were not by much.

Admittedly, that was with my 10.5 driver!!! :) ;)

I'll tell you what, mate. Hitting 9 out of 14 fairways and only just missing 4 others is near or better than scratch standard.

With driving stats like that, I would respectfully suggest saving your money on buying a new driver and get some lessons on the area of your game that is letting you down (irons, short game, putting).

I had exactly the same problem as you. I had a yonex 10.5 regular shaft and on a windless day or with the wind behind it was very good. However, into the wind my shots would ballon up into the sky robbing me of distance. I would have to play a lower punchier shot in order to tee off.

I paid for a custom fitting and they initially recommended a 10.5 regular burner 2009 for max distance according to trackman. However, the flight was still too high and I did not go ahead.

I then bought the tour burner 9.5 stiff shaft for a great price at greg nicholson golf and could not be happier. I'm about 20% longer on my drives and have a lower trajectory with more roll. The impact is powerful and face very 'hot'. Have not regretted it since.
