you know what irks me,is that all the people who are critical of the project have never been there,I have been there before and after the project,let me tell you this there was nothing there before, no real wildlife as such, and as for the dunes well if you care to look further up the coast there is still loads there,the telly piece on trump was just very poor one sided journalism,the majority of people in the area wanted this just a few tree huggers and also anti trump types were against it.
As for the wind turbines well that's just a stupid place to put them, just a matter of time before there is a shipping collision as aberdeen harbour going north is a very busy route.
Give the place a try it's a superb layout, I've played loads of top tracks and this is right up there with them

my point is no-one gave a monkeys about the area before the trumpster stated his intentions,then all these people came out of the woodwork saying how great it was,most having never been there.As I say the dune system is still there just up the coast,that little bit is now a cracking track,it's called progress.

I know what you are saying here. Same with a lot of these type of things. Nobody ever goes there or gives a monkeys until somebody wants to do something there and then suddenly they are environmentalists.

SNH and SEPA did thats why they went to all the touble of making it an SSSI.

I totally agree!

Far too much hype - on both sides - for me. I have my (poor) opinion of Trump and agree that the documentary was extremely one-sided.

Haven't actually seen the course, but reports from mates say it's extremely good/tough. Very much doubt whether the local/Scottish economy will benefit anywhere near as much as described. I don't actually believe a huge amount of damage will have been done - and plenty left as is - so I'm more 'for it' than 'against it'. Shame a better collaboration - like appears to have happened with Maccy Dunes - wasn't performed. Then both/all sides could have ended up with accolades rather than the (typical Trump?) hatred!

Many courses in the uk have tried to "buy" the Open and it hasn't worked - he won't be able to buy the Open - they have their rota and they stick to their principles.

That they may do. But then again after all the fuss with this years open and falling visitor numbers, they may change their minds. As at the end of the day money talks.

Indeed it will. Though the avoidance of the need to 'adapt' is what some parts of 'conservation' is about!

It's yet to be determined whether there is damage or not - I suspect there's minimal, but that's a quite ignorant view. However, the problem (from an unbiased pov) is what to do if there is real damage - as any attempt to 'repair' any damage will also have a knock-on effect. In this regard, I have great sympathy for the 'no change in the first place' folk.

It's quite possible that we've had a demonstration of how 'Nature is wonderful' with the Phillipine storms!

I believe there'll come a point where nature just can't cope with the junk humanity is requiring it to digest! And I'm afraid that point is quite close!

Development of Trump links Scotland,it's biased rubbish and did not reflect what the majority of locals opinions,just those against the project.The majority were for and still are for this project.
