Well what can I say. It is well known on here that Tiger is not my favourite golf but to scoff at his achievements today would be churlish.

He played a blinder, deserved the win and showed exactly why he is the best golfer in the world. It drives me crazy but hey, for all the things about Woods I don't like, I have to take my hat off to the mans skill.

didn`t see it `med` did els bottle it !! or was woods just tu good for him does any one else think like me that els may be a spent force...i hope not but he just can`t finish tourneys offlike he use tu.... :D

blimey, can't believe it! Have just written him off on my blog (lol). so much for EE and all the hopefuls.
and thanks for posting mwj, such a bleak day here I almost wish I had Sky!

Six under on the back nine to win by one. He's unbelievable, isn't he! He's the best thing that's ever happened to the game. It seems incredible that a poster on this forum actually asked if people would miss him if he went away. I can't wait till he passes Nicklaus' record and I bet Jack will be the first to congratulate him.

I hate saying "I told you so" but I did tell you on Thursday who was going to win it. All Tiger has to do is make a few birdies and they all fall away. He really lives up to his name (Tiger) I'd drop dead if a tiger was catching me. Roll on the Masters I think this will be the year Tiger takes them all......

What can you say......73 (3rd round) followed by a 9 birdie 65.......typical Tiger......he just loves to get the job done. Doesn't matter how good you are, digging deep to score like this is just amazing...

I agree ClubChamp. I've always thought I'd never see a Grand Slam but this might just be the year. He knows he's easily the best player and mentally he's so strong. Roll on April and the Masters.
BTW, if he does do it he won't be worrying too much about the Ryder Cup in Sept. (Sorry )

Have to say that els bottled it, shame as I think he may be just starting to fade away as a top force in the game.

Hats of to Tiger though, he looked so "in the zone" on the 1st tee that his body language just gave you that ominous feeling that it was to be his day.

It pains me to watch segio putt at the moment. His putter is the size of something pizza-hut would serve up and still he looks like he has zero confidence. I really hope he gets it back.

Back to Tiger, I can almost here Tiger singing "Poulter, whats the score? Poulter Poulter whats the score?"

I like Poulter by the way but he made a bit of an arse of himself, backtracked like in a cringe-worthy way and then failed to back-up his well publicised comments.

Well done to Tiger for finishing it off in style again.

Still can't root for the guy, though. It's not in my heart. Always find myself hoping the others will beat him in the same way I did with Nicklaus. Always wanted Watson to beat him and even Ballesteros in the 1986 Masters.

Tigers drive on 17 was quality he well deserved to win. Els reminded me of RSA when he put in in the drink 2wice. wonder if he was thinking of that.?

Oosthuizen shot 65 and Kaymer finished 3,3,3 for 66 so Woods was not 'on another level'. He played very well down the straight, but it still contained its fair share of good fortune. Chip in, long putts etc. all statistically low percentage shots that came off on this occasion.

Unfortunately, call it how you like, but there is absolutely no other way to say it than Els completely blew it again. Poor play at the turn followed by poor strategy at 17 and poor conviction at 18 - all the time knowing exactly what he had to do. Regardless of Woods shooting 65, Els still only had to shoot an average score on a course that was highly playable.

Simple fact is Els has completely lost his competitive ability. How Monty must wish it was the 2006- Els he met in the US Open play-offs.

Kaymer though - now that is someone worth watching. The fearlessness of youth maybe, but at last someone who doesn't subscribe to the myth that Woods is unbeatable.

Doffed cap to Woods though. If people are going to keep lying down for him, he's going to keep winning.

Els had to shoot the 65 the day before to get close in the first place!

I know that a forum is a place where the opinions of others must be respected, where everyone should have their say and nobody has a monopoly on the truth. I also think that Toonarmy talks out of his a*** and knows f*** all about golf.

Ok lets call for a moderator!

I know about sports psychology and work in close collaboration with a respected Sports Science department and one of my better friends is a specialist in golf psychology, so I suggest you grow up and deal with the fact that opinions are like arseholes in that everyone is entitled to one.

Try and get your head out of Woods' backside - or is your username just rhyming slang? :p

Sorry MVP.
But to suggest that shooting 65 to win the Dubai Masters by one shot from golfers like Ernie and Kaymer was luck! I ask you. What does Tiger have to do before golfers like Toonarmy are impressed? Maybe win tournaments standing on his head? Playing blindfolded? Holing 6-footers with his c***?

Heading down a now all too familier road lads, let everyone have their say without slagging them off.

True, but look at the final round scores:

Woods (65), Oosthuizen (65), Kaymer (66), Els (71)

This is not about how brilliant Woods is (which I have never said he isn't), it's about Ernie mentally collapsing yet again. Perhaps Mr Els should spend a bit less time fannying around building courses and bit more time remembering how to win on them.

Just look at his body language on the tee on 17 and especially for his pitch on the same hole - poor shots were coming before he even moved the club.

I just think it's a shame that a once great player has become so bloated on mediocrity that he is now barely a threat on the last day. Perhaps a bigger slice to the winner or just smaller slices to the field might encourage people to try a bit harder!

You ''know about'' Sports Psychology? Well done! One of your ''better friends'' is a specialist in Golf psychology? I'm seriously impressed! Shanker/Wanker? It must have taken a brilliant mind like yours to see it. I woud have chosen ''Hooker'' instead.
Anyway, getting back to the game we love. What does Woods, (now that I'm out of his backside) have to do to impress Toonarmy?
Best regards
Shanker
