Why is it only high H/C players are called bandits and you don’t hear low players called the same.
Played yesterday in our local round up, I was playing with a young lad who plays off 6 and a lady of 28, had a great fun day and I played out of my skin.
I’m off 20 and shot a 86 (par 71)so 5 below my H/C, the lady shot to her H/C and the young lad also played out of his skin, shooting a PB 72, (5 under also) was a utter joy to watch.
So we both shot the same under but when sitting in the clubhouse after having a few drinks, whenever we were asked our score, if I said I shot 5 under I was called a bandit and told they would be watching out for me next week, but if the lad (steve) said he shot the 5 under it was all high-fives, great shooting mate, soon be of scratch etc..ect
Later on another group came in with the same kind of scores, one high player shooting below alongside a low player and that was the same, one bandit and one great score.
So why is it if a high H/C plays well he’s a bandit and but not a good player, he’s just had a good day??
