In the last 7 rounds I averaged 31.7 putts with only one 3-putts.

My average before was 37.3.

It seems it works... now I only need to find something that stops me from looking at the hole before I finish the swing... maybe a whiplash collar..

Wow! Very impressive improvement, I need to start using mine!!! How have you implemented it into your practice routine, any tips? Had I knocked the 3 putts off my card yesterday it would have been another single figures round :o

I see what you mean, I was a bit reluctant to take mine out on the practice green with a lot of people around...

I just followed my standard putting drills but now using the v-easy. My swing plane improved a lot and that gave me some extra confidence in terms of distance control. My main problem was that most (90%) of my missed putts were going right of the hole. The drill I still find to be the most useful is putting 6-8 balls to the same hole from different positions and gradually increasing distance so you get to play a different break and a different length each shot.

6 putts less per round is awesome.
I normally see a big improvement in distance control with the V-Easy which normally means less 3 putts. Is that what's happened with your putting?

OK I have had enough of this!! I don't like golf aids (although I have never had one) but I will put my order in at the beginning of next month.

To be fair I think my putting was improving anyway because I started playing less than one year ago.

The number of 1-putts hasn't changed much but the 3-putts seem to have gone. But let's not celebrate too soon...

What I consider a massive improvement is that before my missed putts were all right and short which made me think of a systematic error in my putting. This problem seems to have stopped now. I find my errors being due more to me misreading the green than actually hitting it wrong.

Still think I'm using them wrong, they just seem too bendy!

Having said that, my putting has improved recently .. as a result of lots of practice.

I'm sure it's a great aid, but it's not helping me (yet)

a round in under 10 strokes

I assume that's meant to be funny???! As someone who took up the game last year and got a 17 h/c I've been shooting single figures fairly consistently lately (on a new track) and I reckon for my level that's pretty good, were you born a Cat 1 yeah?

:D

Do you have the V-Easy hinge right up against the bottom of the putter grip?.
It may help if you slide it down an inch or 2 if you have particularily big hands.
Pm on the way

This improvement is in Adam Scott proportions! Did Adam order one Bob?

I continue to use mine and have seen improvement. Last weekend in the medal I shot a 75 which is three over the SSS (4 over the CSS). Instead of the normal hitting it like a pro and taking 36 putts I had the opposite, holing 6 from 10 foot plus!

For me it promotes a smooth stroke, prevents the wrists flipping and allows for a relaxed grip - in other words, it allows me to just rock my shoulders. On the neg side, you wouldnt see me dead with it on our putting green! I use it on the carpet indoors.

Finally, the net result is that I actually look forward to the part of the game I have dreaded previosuly!

I couldnt wait for last weeks medal and I cant wait for this weeks stabelford - a cut in the HCP is coming my way!

By the way - to answer your post, put a marker into the ground right behind the ball and concentrate on that.

I'll give that a try first. I may be back, thanks

I suspect that once Bob has seen my putting stroke on Saturday I too may be coerced into buying one.

You cannot argue with the feedback that it is getting.

Whoa easy tiger, yes it was a lighthearted joke :p maybe I'll put some more smileys in future

To answer your question, you are of course correct, I started with an 18 h/cap and got it to 5 by the end of the season, that involved practice every day and playing till dusk. No time for that now but still managing the handicap and thoroughly enjoying the challenge.

Apologies if I upset you :o

last week i had 32 putts after practising with the v-easy, i would have only had 30 if i didn't miss 2 2 footers :(.
I've found my distance control has improved dramatically i am now getting my putts up level with the hole from distance.
Overall i am very impressed with it as a training aid and i found i was standing a little too close to the ball hence when i swung the putter back it was all over.
Cheers Bob so far so good.
