It's a bank holiday weekend, the weather forecast looks good and most attractions are opening their doors.
Have you got anything fun planned?
Apologies to those who are working.

Football with the kids in the morning, will be nice in decent weather for a change.

The boy has a golf lesson in the afternoon. The wife and kids are going to the coast on Sunday to visit her side of the family. I'm staying at home to finish some diy.

And definitely not going to go play golf instead. Will also be nice not to play in a cold gale force wind.

I'll be doing 12 hour shifts on a wind farm job just off the Suffolk coast. I'll almost be close enough to see Southwold and Thorpeness golf courses.

Friends coming round for dinner tonight, landlady of my local pub's birthday on Sunday. Saturday and Monday are for hangover recovery

Daughter’s 26th birthday on Sunday; using our back garden for a get together of a group of friends.

I’m not only doing the baking for the Afternoon Tea, I’m required to wear my kilt to bring cakes, quiches, cheesecakes etc to the table...just like you often get in fancy country house hotels in Scotland (last experienced on a stay at Cameron House on Loch Lomond a few years ago much to my wife’s delight ??).

Tonight is my Sunday team's cup final. Hopefully win that and then have a fair few beers afterwards (beers will be happening win or lose). Tomorrow sleep off the hangover, maybe watch the play-off final, then Chinese in the evening with in-laws. Sunday got the monthly Stableford comp. Monday I'm currently free and looking for suggestions from friends.

1st night out since last October  (that is when we went into tier 3 up here). Thai restaurant in Newcastle tonight with friends.

Saturday, my kids are coming back from university for a birthday party for their gran which is very nice of them. Sunday I get jab number 2 early doors followed by a wander along the Newcastle Quayside in the sun. Should all be very nice and pleasant.

Things getting back towards normal :)
We’ll be lucky. But if it feels too much like normal then I fear that we are jiggered...

A nice careful and cautious weekend doing some of the things we’d normally have done is as you say however something to look forward to.

And just taken half dozen heart-shaped shortbread ‘cakes’ for her out of the oven...and they are purrrfect...?

I'm cooking Tuscan Chicken for dinner tonight (Google it yum yum) + a bottle of wine. CL at my lads tomorrow night (Grandson who is 10 is cooking Louisianna Gumbo) + probably 2 bottles of wine and ciders. Sunday dinner at ours + a bottle of wine then croquet on the lawn and maybe cricket + more cider. Monday. GOLF IN THE SUNSHINE !!!!!!! Tuesday hand in notice at work.

Life is good!

My dads 70th, so he is round for Chinese takeaway tonight, busy weekend of training as I have a half ironman next weekend, then next week off work too!! Whooop!! Chessington with the kids Monday!

Apart from Christmas and Easter Scotland does not do Bank Holidays like England.
It takes a bit of getting used to. Civil Service and Council staff take the usual bank holidays but most folk just carry on working,
There are local BH that are different wherever you go. EG Ayr has Scottish Grand National and Gold Cup [I think]
I remember being in the Highlands and most shops etc were closed down that weekend due to a local Bank Holiday

I'm going to work! And I can't bloody wait. As I've said before in a few threads, I work in theatre. Lucky to have been furloughed and not let go.

Between lockdowns and cancer treatment I'm doing my first gigs in 13 months tomorrow and Monday.

Absolutely buzzing!
