One for the older members who remember these. When Maxfli where seen as a "proper" brand, the Revolution irons were always seen as a good club to use. I always hankered for set but never got any.
Well I managed to pick up a set of Revolution Midsize (Red Dot). Given that these have a thin topline and minimal offset I am pleasantly surprised at how easy they are to hit. Not as long as my Callaway XR irons, I'm certainly not disappointed in them. For £25 they'll make a great second set to take on my caravan holidays and I think they have a certain classy timeless look about them.

I had a set of them when i was younger, great clubs :)

I always hankered after the Mizuno TP9s, went for a fitting and couldnt hit them for toffee, still hankered after them once Id bought others

Same here, never bought them but loved the look of the TP9s. Got some Wilson Staff progressives instead. Great clubs and got to single figures with them. Blades from sand wedge to 8 iron and then cavity to 1 iron. Wish I still had them.

I ended up buying the Sounder SB blades, Patrick posted a pic of the 1 iron the other day and made me miss them !!! Likewise wish i still had them

Always liked the look of the 'Revolutions' I have a Maxfli 60* wedge which saves my sorry backside at least a half a dozen times a round...

As a junior I somehow acquired a Maxfli Revolution 2 Iron. Black Dot version. Remember a few stingy hands on frosty mornings with that thing :o

As for clubs I've always wanted. I'd love a set of Mizuno blades from the late 80's/early 90's. Could be any of them. Beautiful clubs.

I loved my TP9's, although I struggled with the 1 iron. Bought a set off eBay a few years back, out of nostalgia, but found I just couldn't hit them any more.

Back in the 70's I had a set of Wilson Blue Ridge. Decent sized head and muscle back. Tempted...

Had a set of Maxfli Revolutions and eventually passed them on to junior at our club. I still used them ocassionally at that point, so, I kept an eye out for another set on ebay. Picked up a pristine set which are still in the garage. They were possibly the last "real" club that Maxfli made before the brand name was sold off.

Another set I had was the Tommy Armour 845s, they were a nice club to play with.

I had TP9's for a few years and still have 2 SW's which use. The ones I really wanted were Seve Ballesteros blades by Slazenger....simple and very sleek.

Had the black dot revolutions back in the day, loverly club but I think I was tempted by a set of Titleist 990's so got rid of them. Also had a set of TP9's which had the smallest sweet spot ive ever used on an iron, but dont they look superb :).It amazes me the bargains that are around with quality older sets, picked up a set of Titleist 962b irons mint for £30 that once retailed for £700 :ooo:.

Had the Maxfli Australian blades back in the day when Dunlop were the TM of their day. Fantastic club manufacturer (and their balls were good too) and a shame what happened to them as a company and the way that sporting legacy (they were big in tennis too) was allowed to die virtually overnight
