After watching one of the Steve Buzza vlogs where they use some old clubs I'm really keen to give it a go.
A) it will be interesting to see how they perform, and B) it looks a great bit of fun!

Anybody fancy it?
We could make up a fourball and play a local course.

Suggested rules:
  • Woods must be wooden
  • No hybrids allowed
  • Irons should be of a bladed type
  • Preferably obtained for £25 or less from ebay, charity shop, etc.
  • They had wooden shafted putters which add to the excitement, not compulsory but if you can get hold of one then all the better!

A couple of weeks to source your gear and then we play!
Who's up for it? :D

Bullseye is vintage enough! So looking at somewhere between Birmingham and Manchester as a possible venue.

How about Whittington Heath? Nearer me than you but it's on the HS2 endangered list so would be good to play.

Well up for this, but lets leave it till the spring time. HID brother lives 20mins from there so I can drop her there for the day and ill head to the golf.

Will also give some time to get a full 14 clubs that I like. Allerton golf club by me has drums full of these clubs.

With old school blades I take serious divots in the wet. Real thin soles and little bounce. Lol

Yeah sounds good. should be a laugh. Break 100 will be doing well. last time I used similar clubs was about 5 years ago when I rented clubs at a muni in Liverpool. Driver is so hard but I look forward to the challenge.

Sounds interesting... I already have a 1960s set of Wilson in the shed, complete with a 2 wood, that is made of wood.

Looks like we might have enough for a fourball then. :D

Can you please add your name here if you'd like to play at Whittington Heath, late March time, and preferred day, the £160 fourball offer is Mon to Friday, I'll then look at booking.

I've put the names down of those I think are good to play, if I've got it wrong please take them off.

1. Crow
2. garyinderry
3. dan2844
4.

Second fourball if enough interest:
1.
2.
3.

Got a persimmon 3 wood my parents had made for my 18th. That and an original Anser c1983 is as old skool as I can go. I struggle with modern gear and remember that 3 wood had a sweet spot no bigger than a pin head.
