Old clubs

Mine too, but I have a son whos nearly big enough for adult set and a wife who is interested in the game, fit build and tall enough to get on with a mens set, so i have saved myself a future of mad expense without even knowing it.

At the moment on the subs bench are 3 golf bags (2 cally and a TM), a set of Cally X 20 (regular graphite - 1 degree upright) three umbrellas (one unused) a driver, 5 wedges of differing lofts, a Ping Anser putter, an odyssey 2 ball blade, an odyssey dualforce 554 and a TM rossa spider (conventional not itsy bitsy).

To be fair I have given the 554 and the 2 ball a run out lately to see if we could be friends again but I think especially with the 2ball only UN negotiations wil get us on speaking term.

I think I'll evenutally get round to putting them up for sale but I keep saying that!

My 'garage' collection is only just starting with an Adams 3 iron hybrid for when the 5 wood is off form, a Nike Tour SV lob wedge and my recently discarded Benross putter just in case the shiny Taylormade Fontana goes a bit wrong. Used to trade in or sell but have now realised that sometimes I just need a change and going back to the old kit may stop me buying new.

This must be a thing with golfers, Im no hoarder but when it comes to clubs I find it very hard to part with them, even when the charity wagon comes along to collect those yellow bags, I can never bring myself to slip an old set in there for them.Id rather give them the clothes off my back first!

Hang on, thats what goes in charity bags isnt it? :(

Everything that's been withdrawn from the bag due to major disagreements or downright rows are E-bayed asap. That way, once I've got my replacement there's no going back!

Same for me!

My shed is like an old club sanctuary. I'm thinking about asking the public for £2 per month like with the donkeys and whales and stuff.

I tend to keep it all until someone "needs" a set and then "gift" it to them. I gave away a full set of irons, a driver, 3 wood and putter the other day! He repaid me (uninvited) with 1/2 a case of wine.

I've given stuff to charity shops before, that's a good buzz....

I don't get shot of putters for this reason, unless they are total tosh.....
I go back to all sorts during a season.

I considered e-bay-ing some kit but t.b.h. the hour spent wrapping and finding an open post office :( is an hour I could've earned more cash than the £12.94 I'd get off some ebay geezer. Time is money, sure a full set of irons or new-ish driver, but old rusty-shafted kit from last century.....?

Part ex all the decent stuff and give the other stuff away, HID would go nuts if I had old gear lying arund our flat.

I drove down to golf bidder hq in surrey to out most of my old gear, got 300 notes, so bought a sky caddie sg5 for nowt. Still got a driver, two fairways, a set of irons, 2 wedges ands a putter. Nice to have a spare set just in case.

Pop into World of Golf, its behind Golf Bidder to spend your new ££££, they have every club possible to try out and millions of staff more than happy for you to try stuff out.

I know New Malden very well. I am a Raynes Park boy by birth. Can I just turn up on spec with my kit to sell and they will give me a price there and then or do I need to phone in advance and tell them what I'm bringing down.
