• We'd like to take this opportunity to wish you a Happy Holidays and a very Merry Christmas from all at Golf Monthly. Thank you for sharing your 2025 with us!

Ok, so we've had "what you like about the forum"

I must admit a pet peeve of mine is when people give posts subjects like "Why is it that..." so you're forced to waste valuable seconds opening the discussion to see what it's really about. Bah!

Oh my god this annoys me so much!! I just don't open threads now that have stupid titles...

Seriously?
It's only a mouse click away. If you dont like the subject click again. How valuable are your seconds?

It's just the principle. Why would you give a post a deliberately vague title? It just seems like a way of trying to get everyone to click on it rather than just those who are actually interested in the topic.

Exactly this. Spot on. Nothing to do with the time it takes to click on it, I just don't click on them because the titles annoy me.

You would prefer a title like this?

Deconstructing the Dialogic Discourse in Moto Powakaddy: The Electric Trolley and Homoerotics

(get your post title here: http://www.brysons.net/generator/index.cgi

had to add this one:

Intercourse as Tolerance: Permeating Outraged Margins in Selmore Fazer's Cheap stuff in American Golf

People seem to be so bursting to give their own opinion that they don't read the comments/pages before they "join in". I've pretty much stopped posting of late because it just seems pointless.

Please people don't stop typing "teh". I love how it can instantly render a post retarded.

It doesn't really bother me greatly but posts such as- I nearly had the game of my life but then I had a bogey, bogey, double bogey, triple, bogey finish. I find a bit bizarre.

So basically you were playing golf?

I don't like the fact that we can't swear on this forum. I like swearing. Swearwords are wonderfully expressive and impactful additions to the language. Perhaps we could have an 18 rated section where appalling language is pefectly acceptable?

My only other gripe is the thinly veiled sentiment of anti-Englishness that gently simmers under the surface of a proportion of posts that come from north of the border. I appreciate that it is only natural given the colossal chip on the nations shoulder but all the same...it's just not cricket...

How can you be annoyed living in Bermuda - relax.

Callaway Seducing Text: moi and clubhead speed and the Tolerance of Culture.

Now, there's a thread. :)

1) greedy folk who moan about not getting free gear and when the oppertunity comes up start dropping hints in the thread to Mike as if he gonna take any notice.
2)people blowing smoke up there own arse
3)people posting in my opinion a decent post that you can conversate with and getting 10 hits when guys post that they shot 110 in a bounce game and 200 folk posting to give him a pat on the back( just an example but you get the drift)
4) people shooting other people down as if their opinion is correct, everyone is entitled to their say, wrong or right.

these are part reasons i dont post as much.
