It appears that various bits of the O2 network have been down since about 13.30. Great. That explains why my phone doesn't work then.

They have no idea what the problem is, or when it will be fixed.

That's IT for you.

My view is they should reboot it. That is the usual answer to IT problems.

Out here also. I might have to do the unthinkable and use the landline to actually speak to people.

Trick is, mrs mog is also on O2, her car is here, she is not. I have no idea where she is, I never do, I bet she told me where she would be, but I don't ever listen. What I want to know is, am I supposed to have dinner on my own? I'm starving!

Is that a key I hear in the door?

Could it be?

Food!!!!

Oh my god. You have no idea how useless you are making all men look right now. You're supposed to use the excuse to nip to the pub for a pint and a pie and chips.

I restarted at least 4 times thinking it was shagged, and then I read about the problems.

Well at least it's not the phone!!

Big time pain in the Ars€ for me - twenty odd work mobiles not worth a hoot the majority of this afternoon. Ironically I'm off Golfing with my friends at O2 on Friday! Maybe just mention how ***** there networks been in our area recently.

My phone's showing a signal now but it can't make or receive calls or texts....

So my day could be cancelled and I won't know until I turn up for lessons.....

Sweet.:thup::angry:

Its a problem that is bound to rear its ugly head from time to time

A server or network node goes down somewhere and the whole pack of cards comes tumbling down.

Because we have become so relient on IT we have no manual systems in place to combat such a crisis.

Vodafone had a similar problem a while ago when some east europeans nicked a load of cable from one of their sites,
then RBS a couple of weeks ago, now O2

The only networks that seem uneffected are the porn sites (so Im told) because they invest in backup and failsafe systems, granted its a different scale,

IT is great when it works
