NR in stableford competitions

We dont even have to return our card at ours. If you dont nothing happens. no NR, no DSQ, no .1 back, nothing. When the list of winners go up there isnt even a mention of anyone who hasnt returned their card.

CONGU manual - extract from the list of player's responsibilities:

8.8 Ensure that all competition cards in Qualifying Competitions, whether or not complete, are returnedto the organising Committee, and make such computer entries as may be required – see Decisions,Dec.(m) and Dec.(n).

CONGU manual - extract from the list of Handicap Committee's responsibilities:

7.3 Ensure, so far as possible, that all cards taken out in Qualifying Competitions are returned to theCommittee including incomplete cards.

I've noticed after browsing my club's howdidido competition results that there are often a few people at the bottom with NRs. This weekend there were 6 from a field of 64. I could understand this in a medal as people might give up on a hole to save time but can't understand it in stableford.

Are people doing it to save face? Have they broken the rules in some way and are forced to record a NR?

Also does it effect the CSS? I was thinking if those 6 scores were bad scores surely the CSS would be higher and by recording a NR they are doing a disservice to the golfers who have had a good round.

We had a few NR's in our Captains Day comp last weekend and that was a stableford. Most if not all completed the round yet no scores were entered for any of the holes. Not sure why anyone would go to the trouble of doing that other than being embarrassed by the score.

I'm a bit confused by NR's in stableford on the how did I do website. I finished on 37 points which I know probably wouldn't have won but I did NR one hole as couldn't score so picked up.... but when I got emailed the results for the competition the standings are based on strokeplay, with all the NR's down the bottom- now one of these NR's could have had 45 points and won but in the standings it doesn't show it like that?

Can how did I do not display it in terms of points? Or has it been a mistake either by the club or the HDID website?

IIRC you are at East Ren, I just had a look at HDID and you only have 1 SF comp listed which was on MAy 30th and only 1 person has an NR and a click on their name shows they returned no card.
