+3 through 11 holes today, hoiked my 2nd shot on 12 left into deep bundu spotted "my" ball after trying to get 2 clublengths on it, no life directly behind I decided I could play it! Fought my way in and played it got it out chipped on for 4 got to my putt - it's not mine picked it up NR! Played the remainder of the course in +3 (doubled 13 but it's a shot hole so not too bad) so I was +6 for 17 holes off my new 7 hcp, stableford scoring on the 12th goes to double bogey so +8 for handicapping purposes CSS -1, so despite NR-ing I should have my 1st buffer since joining and ending my run of 20 0.1s on the bounce!

Well done for bouncing back and scoring on the remaining holes. It was only when I became a handicap secretary that I realised a NR in a medal could still result in buffer or even a cut rather than an automatic 0.1. When I told the other females at the club they also were unaware of that possibility and recounted times they kept hitting it in the water but felt they had to keep going - often to the detriment of the rest of their round.

I found myself explaining exactly this to a playing partner earlier in the week.... I guess we're not all golf nerds! :p
