Now I'm really confused....

Managed to get out for a game today. Tried slowing things down, shortening the swing etc etc but it didn't really feel any different.
Scrambled a bogey on the first and then nearly aced the 2nd. The ball pitched 2 feet from the pin, bounced forward and hit the flag and settled 3 inches away - I'll take that. Carved a drive left on the 3rd but hacked out and played up for a par. Level after 3! Mmmm..

Doubled the next, but parred the next 2 . Long par 5. Decent drive, epic 3 wood to the front edge of the green and the eagle chip finished a roll away from dropping - another birdie. Another bogey followed by a par for a front of 37 (+2). This is not how I've been playing!!!
Back nine went bogey, bogey, birdie, par, par, par, bogey, par, birdie for a back 9 of 36 (+1).

73 shots (+3), 42 points. 4 birdies.

I just don't get this game at all. Monday I got 23 total.
What the hell is going on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's some good scoring Imurg and I know the feeling of indifferent scores! I shot a 96 (Par 70!!) on Saturday in a friendly round and then in the medal shot an 78 gross!

the music you were lsitening to driving to the course?
white belt or black belt?
perhaps even your sex life ? do you play better if the night before you got lucky??

Got a bad bounce on the 10th that went right into the grass mounds.
18th was a driver , 7 iron to 8 feet - easy life!!

Sounds like a case of less thinking and more commitment to your shots. Keep it going but be prepared for the inevitable yo-yo scores. We all know a few good un's are followed by many bad un's
