I know there are a number of other dog-lovers on here so perhaps some of you will understand how I am feeling at the moment.
Our son & daughter in law presented us with our first grandchild just before Christmas and, believe me, little Max is fantastic.
However, their 4 year old Springer spaniel has taken it badly. Nothing vicious but he really cannot come to terms with no longer being numero uno. Won't go for walks, has run off twice, off his food, chewing his coat/hair off.
Finally and with vet's advice it has been decided that he be put up for adoption and a fresh start.
Point is that I know it is for his benefit and, as I say, it is not even my dog but my God I am going to miss that wonderful, dopey creature just wish it was possible for us to have taken him on but it isn't.
Sorry about this and thank you for your indulgence.
