No Royal Air ForceRN mob?
Rather ironic. We were having a drinks after playing today and there are 5 retired “bobbies” in our Group. One of them was called Laptop! In my former employment one of my colleagues was called Laptop; he was a small PC.

Hang on just realised you meant nicknamesI was 'Janner'. What about you?
Ah, Tug ?Hang on just realised you meant nicknames
I’m a wilson, so you won’t have to guess to hard as to what mine was (is)
Been thinking of adding many of the RN nicknames I heard and even created whilst in the mob
Honestly. I’d get an infraction just for saying a few out loud.
Few highlights though (of the clean variety)
My mate Karl ‘Syph’ Ellis
Alan ‘arma’ Dellow
Tim ‘rubarb’ rumble
James ‘funky’ giboni
Russ ‘sticky’ stamp
As you know though. There are some long standing RN nicknames as peoples 2nd name.
Some belters in there
I was only talking about this place this afternoon whilst playing golf. The stickiest carpet ever, and the plastic tree ?. We also used to frequent a place called Beasties in Southsea, not sure of its real name but not many of the lady clientele weighed less than 15 stone. ?Ah, Tug ?
So many of them:
Bogey Knight
Timber/Slinger Woods
Sharkey White
Dolly Grey
Bookey Taylor
Talking of Pompey runs ashore this might make you smile:
