New Years resolutions

Aim for single figures and only(hopefully) change the driver................and fairway...............and hybrid.

Lose the weight I gained whilst giving up the fags and get back to gliding again.

I'm aiming to get playing more after missing most of this season with a bad back. Also want to try and lose some weight and see if I can get my handicap back down to 5 and keep it there all season.

As OP try and keep the same kit this year, might look at the new I20's in the autumn though.

Popping up to Edinburgh with the wife in April for a long weekend, might have a look at some of the courses up there (first visit to Scotland) with a view to taking a golfing break later in the year.

Also to stop smoking on NYE.

Mine are to make more putts

freddielong:

I thought the idea was to make LESS putts :) :)
prehaps i have got this game wrong?

I dont normally do resolutions but my aim for next year will be to play more golf, about 60 rounds this year.

To make in-roads into my h/c. Only moved it .9 this year (26.2 to 25.3) due mostly to a cut from the h/c sec. But all the members I play with in comps keep telling me I should be playing to a lower h/c so my target will be 22. Nothing spectacular but if i get better then all well and good.

And lastly to play in a couple of forum meets. I'm down for the North Kent (Redlibberts) in April and the big Southern one in June, (sorry forgot the course) and look forward to meeting some of you then.

for this NYer my goals are pretty straightforward:
-play at least once a week, practice short game at least once a week
-get my handicap down to 10 or 11 from 14
-try to break 85 every round
-break 80 on my home course

now these are looking pretty daunting!!!!!!

The only change I intend to make to my bag is to sell my vokey wedges and purchase the new Wilson FG Tour wedges.

I don't need any other equipment.

My main new years resolution is to get down to single figures. I know that I can do it, I just need to believe in myself more and cut out the stupid little voice in my head that tells me I'm going to fail.

A few of my highlights from 2010 indicate to me that I'm not far off:

My first of three handicap cards, I was 4 over gross stood on the 15th tee.

I played 12 holes -1 gross in our Sunday swindle to finish with 39 points.

Playing at Leftie's place with Smiffy, JustOne and Leftie I couldn't have driven any better.

So, I know that the game is there - I just have to trust my ability.

This time next year Rodney, I'll be off 18.. :)
