Greetings.

I have only recently got into golf but am really enjoying the journey and wondering why it took me so long!

I don't have any clubs yet but I am about to start six lessons with my local club (Stinchcombe GC)and the in house PGA Professional. I will await his guidance around choice of clubs/equipment.

I feel I have started at the right time because after my PGA lessons, I will have the autum/winter months on the course at a drastically reduced rate to practice. I don't have to worry about handicaps or tournaments, I can just get on learning. Hopefully by the time the new financial year comes around and the clubs start becoming busier and my first full membership fees become due, I should hopefully be able to hold my own on the greens.

Anyway, great to be on board plus I love the magazine!

yes defo got ya head screwed on. Wish i had lessons to start with. Good call on the gear too, build a swing and find the clubs to fit it. Have fun learning in the winter, hope you don't hit fat.

Welcome on board, its the place to be.

Great idea but don't be put off by the harder conditions in winter (less distance off the tee, bumpy greens, wind/rain etc). Get your swing mechanics sorted and grooved and you will be ready to rock this time next year.

Welcome to the forum as well. Hope you enjoy your stay

Welcome Meatloaf - enjoy your golf, and the forum.
Like Homer says, winter may feel like hard work, but come next spring you'll be motoring.
Stinchcombe sounds good - Gloucestershire?
